Definitely switched things up and put their QB in a better position to be successful. Good coaching. I think he will be shut down when we play 'em, but I also think, as Oklahoma found out, if you don't play in the SEC, being undefeated isn't really much of a thing......

I love all these threads that basically say, your quarterback is a system QB, ours is gigantically more awesome than sliced bread.

The truth, Clemson focused on more running this season mid-season because TL was pressing to make the big plays. Has nothing to do with lack of ability, just a young player believing in some of his hype. TL earlier this year believed his talent could overcome good scheme, it cannot. TL has settled and is now back to taking what the defense gives him, very under control against OSU. Kudos to him. He will have a good career in the NFL once he takes that next step if he can.

Simply stated, for as good as TL is this year, Joe has taken that next step that TL has not yet. Joe is a 5th year senior prepping like an NFL QB. JB is better than TL at this point in his career. JB has transcended relying purely on talent, which he has in spades. He is now diagnosing and applying that talent within the system. JB's understanding of the system they are running and what other defenses can do to him in that system is way beyond TL at this point in their careers.

That is not a knock on TL, it is just JB has been doing it longer and understands the game better. He is applying his talent with that understanding to a matchup style NFL offense and it is devastating in college football.

To be honest, the reason LSU has gotten better and better on offense is not because of JB, he knew it and understood it first. The fact that everyone around him from oline, rb, and WR are starting to understand and apply their talents to the system is why you get 48-7 in the first half of a playoff game.

The team that only scored 23 on Auburn is not the same team that will face Clemson. Likewise, the team that barely beat UNC is not the team LSU will be facing.

Excellent post and well said. I'm sure some Clemson fanboy is crying about it, but everything you said is spot on.

You've clearly no idea how many times we've heard that this year. We'll file it away with the others.

Not what Dabo says, as he claims they're better and Trevor's a better QB, but I'm not buying it. Sophomore slump for sure and his OL isn't exactly the same as last year. That OL didn't allow him to get pressured much at all vs. Bama in NCG.

This will not be the case this year vs LSU.

TL can make all the throws , we have not changed up anything. Nobody can make some of the throws TL can , Joe has a little better touch on the long balls and that’s not by much. The success JB had this year was systemic and he will be a flash in the pan . You people keep believing those big bad SEC teams you played are as good as Clemson lol. I really can’t believe I have read that so much on here. The melt down is going to be delightful when the dream season gets ruined Jan 13

18-37. Yep he can make all the throws except them 19

It's ironic that most of their success throwing the ball against LSU was from

deep throws to the boundaries and let his elite wideouts go get the ball.
and not

a more short passing game over the middle and relied on YAC almost identical to what Bama was doing with their 3 great receivers.

He’s in a very dark place that I visited on January 9, 2012.
Better him than me!

Your comments show how biased you are, Burrow has way more touch and accuracy. Lawrence can make throws that other QBs can't make. His defensive analysis, moxie, toughness, along with his accuracy is why I'd take Burrow everyday. TL had 13 overthrows and you're trying to tell me he's "as accurate" as Burrow? LSU'S defense had him rattled.
