Ive been seeing Naz as a mid to late first
man, I'm not seeing that at all. Naz has a very nice outside stroke, but no go-to moves in the post, and his driving ability is suspect. He looks wobbly when he's on the move and has fallen down more than any player in recent memory.

Yes, he's 6'10 and can shoot when open. That's valuable. But the rest of his game? I'm just not seeing first-rounder. Not at all.

G league salary has been raised to $35,000 which may not seem like much but it is for 6 months play. The players also get room and board for those 6 months. Any G League player can also sign a temporary contract with any NBA team during the season. The exception would be those signed to two-way contracts in which case an NBA team pays them more money but they can only play for that team on temporary contracts. The max on this type of contract is around $78,000 depending on how many times they are called up to the NBA.

So even if Waters isn't drafted he could make a fair amount of money on a two-way. Whether he takes this kind of deal depends on how bad he wants the money and how much he hates going to class. That's what a whole lot of you guys out there don't take into account is that without the distraction of academics these guys can all improve their games fast. They will also have the best instruction possible.

Why do you think that’s the case if JJ Barea has carved out a very good career past a decade? No trolling, let’s have a serious discussion.

You just proved yourself wrong. If he needed to come back, NBA teams wouldn't care so much about getting their hands on him. What more important to a kid who wants to play in the NBA -- another year in college or a year playing in the NBA season??

Actually you're incorrect. NBA would rather the player be on a two way contract or in their clubhouse than being in college.

NFL is really the only professional organization that thinks the college game can help develop the players.

The NBA doesnt like the college game.

Barea spend a year and a half in the d league before he got called up permanently.

Honestly I think Tremont should go to the G league, you get more games to get better. But if you want to use a comparison, Jalen Brunson (who is a bit taller) played all 4 years of college and never had to play a game in the g league.

Naz should probably stay 1 more year.

They should both come back, but I don't see it happening.

Naz is not ready and should stay another year minimum. He has a problem figuring out how he wants to play. It's like he want to put the ball on the floor, but its far from a strong suit of his with pretty questionable dribbling. Hands play weak. And he has never developed the post moves that he will need. I don't get the hype honestly.

I’m still trying to understand what people see in Reid that makes him a borderline first round pick. He’s athletic and that’s it.

Seems somewhat low for Naz
how do you get that? Naz plays small. Playing small is not good for NBA prospects. If he comes back and works on post play just a moderate amount, he'd be a lottery lock, which comes with a guaranteed contract. He will leave this year, and that will be a bad decision compared to if he waited. He'll wind up making fair money in the developmental league, but it's no where close to what he'd make with a lottery pick contract.

Tremont should come back and improve his 3-point shot, because 33% isn't going to impress any NBA scouts. With his size, the only way Tremont is going to make it in the NBA is if he's a deadeye shot from range … and he isn't yet.

Reid just looks awkward a lot of the time. He definitely needs to come back.

Naz had better production than last seasons overall #4 draft choice Jaren Jackson Jr. both 6-10 stretch 4s

scoring
Jackson- 10.9 ppg
Naz- 13.6ppg

Rebounding
Jackson- 5.8rpg
Naz- 7.2rpg

Shooting
Jackson- 51.3fg%, 39.63pt%, 79.6Ft%
Naz- 46.8fh%, 33.3%, 72.7ft%

Not saying Naz should be drafted that high but he’s going to be drafted higher than ppl think and doesn’t deserve anywhere near the criticism our fans place on him. This theory that he needs to be a dominant post player makes no sense because there are very few post ups in today’s NBA. Naz is perfect for today’s league, he has deep range and can put it on the floor as well as pass the ball better than almost every big man coming out this season. Once the combine starts and teams are reminded of his skill set he’ll move up fast. He does need to continue to work on getting in better shape, the 82 game schedule can be a grind.

Naz cant walk and chew gum at the same time. He is not really good for his size and hype. He needs to come back next year and get more disciplined down low and learn what a pivot foot is and how to use it, stay in balance, hold onto the ball, don't shoot with the left hand, etc.

Gotta disagree, he’s a highly skilled big man who can shoot with 3 point accuracy, he can also handle the ball and pass the ball extremely well for a big man. Of all the highly recruited 4 and 5* bigs LSU has had since and including Shaq, only Shaq himself had better numbers than Naz as a freshman. And Naz even outperformed Shaq in certain areas. No freshman big at LSU has scored more and while Shaq was a better rebounder and shot blocker, Naz was much better shooting the ball and passing the ball as a freshman. Here’s how Naz stacked up vs out other 4/5* bigs since and including Shaq as a freshman at LSU.

Scoring (tied players decided by total points)
Shaq- 13.9
Naz- 13.6
Big Baby- 13.5
Jordan Mickey- 435, 12.8
Brandon Bass- 370, 12.8
Jarrell Martin- 10.3
Johnny O’Bryant- 8.5
Stromile Swift- 7.6

Rebounding
Shaq- 12rpg
Big Baby- 8.8
Jordan Mickey- 7.9
Brandon Bass- 7.4
Naz- 7.2
Johnny O’Bryant- 6.7
Jarrell Martin- 4.6
Stromile Swift- 4.3

Posting their shooting stats is a waste of space since none of them are even close to Naz in that category. Naz has been great for us this season, nobody’s made more clutch plays and big shots, we couldn’t have had the success we did without him. Not one of these other players was subjected to the hate Naz has been and it’s completely unfair.

Naz is a first round pick. His size, instincts around the basket for rebounds and measurables are enough for a team to take him in the "soon after the lottery picks" range.

If he would have limited the fouls and increased his defensive intensity at the same time as the season went, he would be a lottery pick. He has all the tools to be a 20/10 guy in the NBA, but none of the polish and consistency needed. NBA GMs see him as a project, thus not a lottery guy, but a mid-late 1st who could make an impact in 2-3 years with some coaching and reps.

No it is not low. They have moved up from not even in the projected draft. To in the top 60. The SI mock draft has NAZ 53 and Waters 62 and Smart 65.

At a 50 ranking you do not get a guaranteed contract. Anyway neither one is NBA ready. They can still choose to,get paid $125,000 to develop in the G league. They have seen Blackney and Sampson do it.

I wish they were not but a lot of agent voices are going to be leaning on them hard to go. Not having a coach makes that much more likely.

If only Waters and NAZ go we will still have a very good foundation.

If Waters was 40 percent from three, sure. He is a 3-4 year player at LSU unless he just really wants to get paid overseas. Naz does seem slightly low, but he's been exposed in some areas. I think one more year with Wade would be great for his signing bonus next year as a much better first round draft prospect.

Tremont is a good individual player but a selfish team player. Naz is not a good player and also selfish, he hurts this team. We'll be better off without them. Downvote away
