he definitely doesn’t let many balls get passed him. What do those stats say?

Travinski has 7 PB to only 1 PB for Milazzo. It’s harder to quantify their impact on WP totals.

It would have to be Beloso. Travinski in the DH role

No thanks. I'll take a passed ball or two per game over Milazzo batting 4/5 times.

This is the argument to make.

Do we allow at worst 3-4 extra bases defensively and give up 5-6+ bases offensively?

Travinski all day long, Milazzo Can’t hit the side of a barn with the bat.

Where did you get those numbers from?

According to the LSU website, Travinski is 4 of 9 and Milazzo 4 of 11. Stil shows what you are saying though.

Flipside, Milazzo has 1 PB in 287 chances and Travinski has 7 PB in 196 chances

It would make the most sense to sacrifice offense in game 1 with Skenes pitching. Milazzo may be the best move and Travinski DH.

This isn’t even an argument anymore.
The 9 Jay rolled out this weekend will be the lineup going forward

There is absolutely an argument for milazzo catching and travinski dh’ing with skenes on the mound

I think the answer is both. Maybe start Travinski and relieve him with Milazzo if you have a lead late. It’s gonna be hot as hell and if Travinski is gets tired it could effect his bat in game 2 or 3.

Sitting Beloso could be an option if it’s a bad matchup. I’d imagine they’ll look at the matchups from the earlier series and if Beloso sucked it up vs a particular guy then it could be Travinski at DH and Milazzo at C.

Having options is a good problems to have.

You can’t take Travinski and Beloso’s bats out of the lineup so we need to stay with the same lineup. If you put Milazzo behind the plate, then Jones or Beloso goes to first and that is even a worse scenario

I agree about Milazzo, but the difference between his bat and Belosos is a steep drop off.

Normally, this would be a no-brainer, and I'd say Milazzo. But the guys you would have to choose among to sit are absolutely raking right now.

I'd go with Travinski and probably pull him after his third plate appearance, unless we're behind.

I think Travinski got worse and worse behind the plate as the game went on. It was probably due to the heat.

Who are you taking out of the lineup? Beloso or Travinski? Because those are your only two options. And let me tell you whoever you take out hurts our offense tremendously.

Nice to have options. Likely need less runs w/ PS, Lazzo sounds great to start with PS.. Are they going to be more aggressive running with PS than others? Sure. Can't really hot him so... get em on, move em over, scratch a run...Who sits,,, Tough call but it wont be Travinsky.

I’m getting it from the LSU website:

SBA/ATT - Milazzo (15-19), Travinski (9-13),

I know it’s sacrilege to even suggest, but Tre Morgan is in a major slump. He is an option, but then the question is whether the improvement in defense at catcher would outweigh the weaker defense at 1B.

Travinski did have a few passed balls this weekend,

It was his 3rd game catching the weekend. I am a huge Milazzo guy being from Zachary but you can’t take Hayden out of the lineup. His defense has been okay lately. His bat outweighs any defensive woes.

We will need Milazzo to give Travinski a rest in Omaha. Great position to be in honestly. Milazzo could start for many other teams left in the tournament.

Tre Morgan is the only player on our roster to make that diving catch and that stretch against OSU. Yes his bat isn’t good right now, but we need that defense at first

You're not taking out Tre. But if you want to insert Milazzo the only two realistic options to take out are Beloso or Travinski. And me personally I am not taking out either of those guys. I'm leaving the lineup where it is. Unless Skenes asks for Milazzo behind the dish, that is the only way you make a switch at this point.
