While Travinski did have a few passed balls this weekend, I’m not really worried about him behind the plate(he did throw out a guy at second). However, we do know Milazzo is overall a better catcher from a defensive perspective. Given Travinski caught every game this past weekend and Kentuckys play style do we see Milazzo behind home plate?
Obviously Travinskis bat stays in the line up which would push Beloso out so I don’t see it happening, but CJJ has made most look foolish trying to predict his lineups.

You will see the same players take the field this week, as did last weekend.

Travinskis arm is good. Milazzo s arm is great. Kentucky’s strength is running the bases.

Milazzo may be the move

I agree about Milazzo, but the difference between his bat and Belosos is a steep drop off.

Who are you sitting for Milazzo?

Beloso, Pearson, or Jobert?

You would have to if you start Milazzo behind the plate. I guess it just comes down to do you sacrifice offense for defense

I’m all for Travinski in for as long as we need him, but you could tell he was tired by the ninth, so I don’t get him being in on Defense up 8 runs, like last game. When he had that passed ball in the ninth , I was just asking “ why”? But whatever, his bat is arguably the hottest in the last month….

You also need Beloso in the line up. Jay is gonna have a tough decision doesn’t he.

I know that’s the general perception and it may be accurate, but the stats don’t tell the same story. Travinski has thrown out 4 of 13 base stealers while Milazzo has thrown out 4 of 19.

You're not really worried about him behind the plate?

How many trips did he make to the backstop? Almost 1 per inning?

I love his bat. And his moxie. I just wish we had a better solution behind the plate.

It would have to be Beloso. Travinski in the DH role

7 balls got to the backstop yesterday. That was a problem.

I don't really care who is behind the plate as long as Travinski is in the lineup

That was one game. It hasn’t been a major problem most of the season.

milazzo was 1/6 throwing out baserunners against Kentucky this season.

travinski is 4/9 on the year.

blocking his his big issue but he was actually pretty good all season but had a rough 2 games against OSU. 3/7 passed balls against OSU

Damn that’s a good stat. I will admit I haven’t seen the throw downs from Milazzo like it was perceived he could do, however he definitely doesn’t let many balls get passed him. What do those stats say?

People are looking at this wrong. The problem isn’t that you have a really good defensive catcher that can’t hit. I’d be ok playing him.

The problem is you have a catcher that is just ok on defense and a DH that are tearing the cover off the ball and you can’t take them out of the lineup.
