I heard he’s heavily recruiting the Midwest to find more 5’9” 160 lb infielders.

If our primary recruiting base were the Midwest, do you think we'd have bigger or smaller players?

It's like some of you don't understand that height isn't very prevalent in Louisiana.

Well we had one on the roster all year and never let him pick up a bat aside for a TV segment with Kyle Peterson (in which he hit one over the fence FWIW). A big, strong right hander. Maybe that’s why...

At a D1 level, I couldn't think of one. I would think D2 or JUCO would provide that opportunity.

I agree Bain saw time at the plate and in the field his senior season, but he was recruited to LSU as a pitcher only if I recall.

And he had one fewer extra base hit than one everyday starter had all year.

FFS, at least let him take BP and have him ready for PH scenarios late in games against lefties.

Reminds me of when Les would sign a Mobile QB to play pro-style offense.

Yes, while baseball and softball have had nationally ranked numbers for many years now, basketball is actually better than most, as well.

2018 NCAA Basketball Attendance

And while football was in the toilet during the last few years of the Hud era, for a while we had pretty decent numbers there as well. We are hoping Napier will get us back to at least those numbers.

Not that facts have anything to do with the little narrrative that the OP has going on in his mind.

Aside from the occasional outlier, the LSU team looks much smaller than most of the other teams they play.

the average size of our current starting lineup is actually bigger than the average size of the starting lineup of Skip's last national title team. there are a lot of insightful reasons to knock Paul Mainieri, but this is one of the (if not the) most ignorant and uneducated one. But I can tell you read all the arguments the rant's braintrust has created over the years, so good on you.

You do realize we had several very big baseball players on our team this year right? Like they were some of the biggest guys on the field against every team they played. Not to mention size means diddly shite for a baseball player.

Daniel Cabrera says hello. And he’s not the first under PM.

No he didn’t. The kid at first was Burke, a RIGHTY. Burke is going to SLU to play baseball. He’s not a pitcher. Lefty was in centerfield.

Not sure which game you were watching...
