First off, this team is deep as shite and it’s scary. You’ve got guys sitting on the bench that would start on many SEC teams.

I thought last night was a heck of a baseball game. Good teams find a way to win games. Their bats were off last night but the fielding and pitching was stellar.

My only complaint to date is we need to cut down on the Ks. Too much boom or bust right now. I’ve liked the lineup the last few games but I’d like to see a few guys that have proven they can hit. When White is back I’d like to see more Pearson, Kling, and Beloso.

It’s going to be a hell of a ride boys.

This rant has a very weird infatuation with Beloso.

They are working ABs and ultimately will have more Ks then most teams, I'll take that trade off from the pop I've seen so far. Also, the last thing with this team I'm worried about is the hitting.

If we can pitch and field the way we have through the first 8 games, WATCH OUT. We need to keep that up and goals will be hit.

Beloso pops out all the time. When White is fully healthy, watch out. He was seeing it better yesterday so he is close. With the current lineup, I’d move Jobert down and Morgan to 3rd behind Crews. Nippolt is great in defense but is lost at the plate right now. Neal is pressing as well.

The good news is that this looks to be the best pitching staff that LSU has ever had; this will give us a chance to win any game that we play. The hitting leaves a lot to be desired at this time. We swing at way too many breaking pitches that are not strikes; this is causing too many strike outs. I am sure the lineup will be constantly tweaked moving forward. Jobert's play in the outfield needs to improve.

Beloso is one of the last hold outs from the Marinara Regime of players that were really cocky but just not that good at baseball.

If you look all over baseball, this is a current trend. From travel ball to MLB, everyone is swinging for the fences. Add to that more analytics are going into pitching. Hitters always read scout reports in pitchers, now more pitchers are getting better scouting on hitters.

Since 2005, in the MLB strikeouts are up by a third.

Remember that little league kid’ “I hit dingers”? He struck out a lot too.

I’m pretty sure Jobert is tied for team high in HRs, best in slugging percentage, 4th in BA and RBI.

Beloso was one of the best hitters on the team leading up to the season.

He had an off game against very good pitching. These guys have been on the road for a full week.. they are in college, not the pros. Going into this game, you could argue he was one of the hottest hitters in the entire lineup.

When have you ever seen Beloso be cocky?

I hope Jobert can do it against good pitching. I worry that he falls off again when a pitcher has good off speed stuff that he swings above for strikeouts multiple times a game again.

Okay….he had half of his hits for the season in one game against a less than stellar pitching staff. He is hitting .263 with 3 rbis and 1 homer outside that one game. He is basically the same guy he was last year.

And his bat isnt the only part of his game, his fielding has been horrible. If you dont agree with that, then you havent watched

And for the record, im not saying any of those guys are going to produce better than him, i just think they deserve some at bats too
