Winning matters. Learning to win a tournament like this helps you to win in Omaha. LSU has won multiple national titles in years where they've won the SEC tournament. And for that reason, I don't buy the "don't want to wear ourselves out" argument. They get a week off after the tournament, and it's baseball, after all. Why are people worried about getting worn out?

I was just hoping for them to get at least 1 more game to let some more arms get some work in; but am thrilled that they are done and there are no new injury reports

Both LSU teams to win it all since 2000 won the SEC tournament, but that combination doesn’t hold for other SEC schools. Only 1 of the other 7 SEC teams that won the CWS won the SEC tournament.

Nothing is guaranteed, and I didn't suggest it would be. But there is no doubting that a championship culture cultivates more success. You look at this program since 2017, and it's no surprise that we have zero SEC titles, and zero trips to Omaha. We just haven't had a championship makeup. I hope this team can buck the trend, but my confidence is rather low.

Unless u stay in winners bracket in SEC Tourney continuing to play only wears arms out, losers bracket is tough to come out of and win without killing ur bullpen arms

They weren't going to burn anyone, though. Not when their NCAA hopes were not resting on this tournament. You use your whole pitching staff, but no one was going to be asked to throw more than was safe. If we had gotten to Sunday, we'd have been relying on some guys we don't see very often, but the same would have been true for whoever we would have played.

In the regionals and in Ohama is where you push guys, and where we really are at a disadvantage to some of the other teams when it comes to quality depth on the mound.

On the contrary. It was 1000% coincidence that they beat Skenes twice. If this coach is so awesome that he beat Skenes twice, then please, oh please explain his ineptitude to lose the other 2 games.

This might be the most ridiculous post I've read tonight. How in the hell would we "wear arms out" exactly? Or "kill our bullpen"? You think JJ would overextend anyone in this tournament? The answer is no. And then after this tournament the whole staff would have the normal time off they usually get. Damn man, you think these are little school girls we are talking about here? This is major college baseball.

Arkansas didn’t beat Skenes twice. Shores was the losing pitcher in the loss to Arkansas.

Skenes’ loss during the regular season was to S Carolina.

A loss is always upsetting. Just hope the bats start to come alive in the regional

Let them cook. They think having 1 extra day of rest will fix the last month of issues.

The form of the team going into the regional is the concern. I don’t think people here were foaming at the mouth about not getting an SEC tournament championship

The paulites love the sec tourny. The tourny was pointless and meaningless to us. We have a national seed locked up likely the 4 tucked away.

Hurd emerging was huge and Floyd staying on a roll was huge.

Cooper dealing was good.

We should know Dutton and Little will never show up in a meaningful game again.

Agree. In the month of May, LSU has gone 5-7 against SEC teams. That is cause for concern.

Why, they haven’t won a National Championship in anything of value in years. They have a great streak going. Shouldn’t bother us.

We had 2 more games with basically Money, Collins, and Little available. We haven’t even seen Collins in weeks so not sure if he’s even healthy. How do you win this tournament without overextending someone?

Non expert observations from this week

Deficiencies:
baserunning - Jobert and Jones
Bunting - the whole team
Bullpen - the back half
Batting - clutch hitting/ too many Ks (LHP)
Defense - some marginal defensive gloves
Batting - Dugas/Jones
Lineup changes - stop Tinkering, CJJ

Strengths:
Talented Roster
Friday ACE
The Crews slump might be over
Overall batting production/power in lineup
Some great defensive gloves

Established this week and hope it continues:
Skenes/Floyd/Hurd
Ack/Cooper/Herring/Guidry/Coleman

X-factor:
Luck - time for positive regression (LSU postseason baseball gold jerseys)
