Outside of Speedy Noil (whose recruitment was also clouded by suspicion), I dont believe there was ever a single Louisiana recruit that LSU really wanted, burning LSU for A&M.
Not until it became legal to pay recruits.

A&M’s window is almost closed for good. When Big brother Texas comes to the SEC the little brother Aggies are doomed. A&M is willing to cheat and pay every high school player they can until that day comes. A&M is a low class trashy football program with a fanbase that is equally trashy.

Try living in Texas and having to listen to aggie grads circle jerk each other all day about A&M football.
This is understated

Good for them. They’re playing within the current system and pulled off the #1 class which isn’t an easy feat. However I don’t that program is really ready for what expectations and consequences this will bring them. They have not won a CFB title since Pre WW2.
8-4/9-3 no longer cuts it anymore because those bagmen will DEMAND 10 wins seasons at a minimum moving forward. They play in the hardest division in the hardest conference in all of CFB. Players won’t get the money/PT they were promised and transfer out/quit/become a distraction.
This is a good way to look at it.
The thing is though, if they actually manage to pull off good seasons, it will all work without a hitch. Jimbo is a good coach, it could happen.
But until then...8T4

These clowns seriously think that Jimbo is pulling off some recruiting magic this season.
Nobody with a brain thinks money has nothing to do with what happened to A&Ms recruiting this year. Jimbo is just going to fight like hell to deny it so that the rest of the team doesn’t revolt.

The day will come, and soon, when Jimbo Fisher will regret his press conference of yesterday.
There was plenty of indignation there, but, if you listened closely, there were contradictions and measured words.
When he says there is "no big slush fund", he may be right, technically. There are likely many slush funds, under separate control, acting in concert with recruiting needs.
There's too much money involved for all of this to remain secret.

If we were in their shoes, we’d be somewhat delusional too, I’d imagine.

You are not kidding... before I moved here I would have figured UT people are the most insufferable, but I was way wrong. Think gas station hat Bama fans with a little jingle in their pocket- that is the Aggies.

Best post of the recruiting season
Someone has to do this and bombard the media
ATM guys will lose their marbles and it will be glorious

LSU beat Jimbo/A&M with a lame duck staff, a dead duck head coach, 2 green coordinators, and 53 players. LSU is 9-2 vs A&M in the last 11 games and Brian Kelly just took Harold Perkins away from the dump known as College Station where they have to pipe in Sunshine. Fukc the Aggies.

What I don’t understand is that multiple boosters just dumped millions of dollars (legally now) into your program and you just took a shite on them on national television. You literally crapped on the very people that made it happen by lying.
Why would jimbo do that?
I would imagine those text messages from the bagmen where nice and spicy last night.

You do know Jimbo is an Aggie? Lol.

He’s not an Aggie. He just gets paid by them.

Great point. What does he stand to gain by getting up on a high horse and blatantly lying like that? It was so unnecessary and absurd. Why not own it and give thanks to the people that helped make it happen?
Why not say something like, "We're operating in this new system the best we can. We're fortunate to have so many people who care about the program and are willing to do whatever they can to help Texas A&M win a national championship."
Just be honest and keep it classy. But don't let boosters carry you to 3rd base and then act like you hit a triple.

They’ll always be a little brother school.

His response seems so over the top. Maybe he's insecure that their real methods will get out and he's throwing up a smoke screen for the NCAA lookin.

The Aggies have a long history of digging into their overalls to pay for players.
In the 1980s, the "Jimbo" was Jackie Sherrill, who had a well-chronicled reputation as a rules-bender.
A&M was twice placed on NCAA probation under Sherrill. One of the charges involved QB Kevin Murray, Kyler Murray's father. During the 1988 season a former player disclosed that Sherrill had paid him $4,000 in cash and money orders. Sherrill ended up resigning.
Had Sherrill not resigned, the feeling in Texas was that A&M would have been given the same "death penalty" that SMU got the year before.
So the Aggies can't help but cheat. It's in their DNA. They've been waiting for some godsend. At first they thought it was simply hiring (and paying) Jimbo Fisher. But now it's the NIL ruling. The Aggies woke up one morning and said, "Wait a minute. You mean we can buy players again and nobody can do anything about it?!"
They all know what's going on, but obviously they know how ludicrous it is because the ring leader (Fisher) is denying the whole scheme.
All Jimbo had to do was own it and remind people that he didn't make the new rules, that he was only playing by them. Instead, like he's done before (Jameis incident, for one), his motormouth jibberish got him into trouble again.
Fisher and the Aggies are going to hear about this all season...and the next season...and the seasons after that. They'd better get used to it, but I don't think they can. They're too thin-skinned.
