Poor attendance is 70% disatisfaction with the Head Football Coach/Football Program. 20% Covid restrictions BS. 10% Woke factor.

“I’m so tired of Hurricane Ida used as an excuse for poor attendance”.
So who the frick are you to question why people choose not to attend? They paid their money and chose not to go to the game. At least they support the athletic department with their money. How much have you invested in LSU athletics?

Add late kickoff as an excuse for Auburn game

No one wants to see LSU versus McNeese or Central Michigan.
LSU’s balloon popped against UCLA. LSU is not beating Alabama. So what is LSU really playing for when your OL can’t give your RBs 100 yards a game ?
If you’re a football fan, then God bless you and thank you for supporting the team. However, LSU playing in a NY6 Bowl is likely a pipe dream this season. This team is only slightly better than last years team and O and his coaches haven’t done crap to help the players.

I agree. I live in BR and I know many LSU supporters who refuse to go to any game under the current requirements. Anyone who doesn’t think the Covid protocol is not the major factor is kidding themselves.
What is so ridiculous is the fact that if you have taken the vaccine you are protected (supposedly) and if anyone else who goes is only subjecting themselves or other unvaccinated to Covid. So why is the Pro Vax crowd so concerned? It makes no sense especially since the Vaccines are causing problems for quite a few vaccinated people around the country.

There's many issues and this has been happening and getting worse for a long time
First and foremost, the cost/benefit analysis has continuously been trending towards not attending the game. EVERY game is now on television so there is no NEED to attend the game if you want to see it. That wasn't the case as recently as 15-20 years ago. Combine that with increasing cost of attendance and more and more people are simply choosing to stay home because, whether we want to admit it or not, there is some degree of "hassle" in attending a game. Traffic, parking, putting on a tailgate party, etc. At a certain price point many decide "it's just not worth it."
The double-edge of that sword is those same fans DEMAND excellence...which costs money. The TV money is getting greater and greater, but that is split. LSU still needs to generate their own revenue and football is the overwhelming money maker.
IMO, 100k sellouts are going to be the exception, not the rule simply because our consumer habits have changed (not just at LSU). Thus, the definition of "poor attendance" probably should be adjusted. There aren't many 100k seat NFL stadiums (if any). So getting 80k to a college game is still a relatively big accomplishment. It just looks bad because that still means 20k+ empty seats. Or in other words, many SEC stadiums are "overbuilt" for the current market.

Our attendance so far boils down to two main things playing off one another:
-cupcake opponents
-season-opening loss to UCLA
And.... people are tired of LSU's woke bullshite. This is a thing. Many people are tired of the liberal agenda and are checking out.

This isn't a hurricane issue. Its a combination of mostly opponent and state of the program.
#4 LSU hosted #10 Tennessee in 2005 on a Monday night after 2 hurricanes, Katrina and Rita, had just pounded the region. That game was packed to the gills with a 105 degree heat index at 7pm. We had real issues in Katrina but found a way to make it to BR for that game.

I had forgotten this was the short lived debut of the Les Miles headset.

We sold out the stadium in 2008 THE DAY of a hurricane.. The game was moved to 10a and it was hot as hell but the fans still came.
yup. i was there. we evacuated after the game.
we also had a full house in 2005 after a hurricane and we played on a monday night in TS.

What kind of arsehole flies into a near hurricane zone and takes a hotel room from either an evacuee or a disaster worker just to come see LSU buttfrick Central Michigan?

It's a good point in theory but this thread is dumb because it was definitely a subpar crowd for that blazing hot Gustav game at 10 am. Poor choice of a way to make your point. Also that game was before a hurricane. People had not been impacted by it yet.
A better thread would have been to compare the crowds this season to the crowds in 2005. Those games were after two hurricanes. People had been impacted by them. And Tiger Stadium was packed.

Absolute bull. Newsmax and FB have completely warped your minds. What's your source?
I'm sure there are people who are staying away from the stadium due to vaccine and the interpretation that LSU is some sort of liberal machine.
But, maybe let's see the result of Miss St game and if we win and attendance still sucks for Auburn, I think more definitive statements can be made.
Let's root for a win vs State and then much more educated conclusions can be made.
Also the comparisons to 2005 are asinine. The world is completely different than 2005 in terms of at home viewing experiences. Might has well question why broadcast television ratings are so much lower than 2005.

Why are you skirting around your actual intent with this post? Not getting enough attention on the “I’m Upset 24/7 Politics” board?

No but even if the vaccine was completely perfect it stil is none of your damn business what anyone else chooses to do and demanding “papers” is ridiculous.
By the way go read the VAERS reports.

I know all about VAERS and the bs your FB feed says about it. If you dig into the numbers the significant or severe impacts reported are minimal as a percentage of overall doses (“severe” cases are about 0.1-0.2% of total doses given). According to
Studies by John Hopkins, the CDC, Vandy and FDA only 3 of 7,653 deaths in VAERS have been confirmed as plausibly caused by J&J vaccine.

Further, VAERS needs to be reviewed with the two main understandings: there is no control group and correlation does not equal causation.
I’ve linked a couple of factual articles to hopefully educate yourself and your family - but if you want to continue to believe FB and look for confirmation to your incorrect beliefs, have at it.

Bad take. There was no damage before the hurricane and now many people are out of their homes and camps are destroyed. Still fans but many are more occupied with getting their life back together.
