I think He share 2B with Dugas against RHP and Dugas starts against all LHP.

No way you take Dugas out of the lineup unless he starts to struggle. He was LSU best hitter this weekend and took the best at bats

Like CCJ said he's a winner and does everything right. I'm happy he's on the team.

Guess you don’t like a .500/.636/.750 state line.

It’s looking like Jones is the guy unless he slumps.

I like it fine, im just skeptical it can be kept up once there is a book on him and he starts seeing mpre breaking pitches on the outside corner. Most all of his hits have been fastballs over the plate

Like i said yesterday. Nippolt ain’t leaving the lineup. He’s too valuable

Great problem to have. I think you're right that he will play 2B when Tanks returns, but Dugas deserves consideration for sure.

An argument can be made for Dugas in the outfield and putting nippolt at 2b when white returns.

You lose HR power but defense get better.

Yes, Dugas made some big plays last year in LF if I recall correctly

There’s a difference between being solid & never leaving the lineup, that’s all I’m saying. M

He’s a utility guy that can fill in at multiple spots, or start games in spurts when needed. I don’t think he’s a full time 70 starts type of guy

Obviously Jay will be the final arbiter of how much playing time Nipppolt gets.

I can tell you Nippolt displayed the epitome of "professional at bats" Jay has been preaching since arriving at LSU.

They ought to just run his at bats on a loop at baseball ops.

Just one weekend...but the kid looked so comfortable at the plate and in the field.

He sees pitches that’s for sure. He’ll probably walk more than he K’s or at least he close to even. I like him. But also saw the ball die off his bat a bit, so I just don’t know how that projects everyday in SEC. He’s not a huge guy, I get it. I’m confident he’ll find his role. His ability to play multiple spots will have him in the lineup a bunch

Morgan, Crews, and Thompson are probably the only every day guys as of now. Tanks would have been but I think we have to be somewhat careful now. Dugas and Jones are making a case, but it's way too early. Jay seems like he wants Neal to get a huge share at catcher, but we still need to keep him fresh/healthy.

Nippolt strikes me as a big team guy. He'll work a count and just try to make contact instead of sitting on a pitch to drive. In a plus count, he's still thinking about the sum of the parts. If he has a guy on 3rd and less than 2 outs, he's not trying to get a hit - he wants to log pitches, get a run in, and pass the bat. Very unselfish. I think the book is still somewhat out if he'll be able to do those things against elite pitching. You can try/want to slap a pitch to the right side against SEC pitching and still get buried.

Dugas was playing LF when he fricked up his wrist at the wall

Absolutely not worth the risk of injury, and even moreso with all the big bats we already have.

Great pickup and he really seems like he is having a blast out there.
