Kid had some really quality at bats to say he remains hitless. No K's, 4 RBI, and some really loud outs. I liked what I saw from him at the plate.

Also looked comfortable at 3rd defensively to pick up White.

With Dugas hitting like a house on fire, Nippolt looks to be the odd man out when White returns full time at 3rd.

Good problem to have though. Love picking this kid up.

Can Dugas play any corner outfield? I’m not saying every game, but he could be utility and play some occasional outfield to allow Nippolt to get some PT.

Yeah. I think he would be the swing guy if the OF bats don’t pick up.

He’s got quite the stat line. 0 hits and leads the team in RBIs lol kid controlled the zone well and put some really good swings out there. I like him.

Interesting that many thought LSU was loaded in the outfield, but early on it appears at least one of the outfield spots may have to make room due to the play and hitting of the infielders.

Dugas could be argued as a hybrid OF/INF I suppose.

I mean he did hit multiple balls to the warning track. I’d say those were pretty loud outs

Yeah, I was really impressed with him. He looks like he can play all 3 IF positions at this level when/if necessary and handle the bat. Really nice pickup by Jay.

not including the screamer line drive he hit down the first base line that was snagged. That was a bullet!

He made the exit velo page once this weekend, so not sure he was pew-pew’ing everything. He’s best served as a little utility player. Should get lots of starts. He’s the LH version of merrfield

I think He’ll be solid going. Forward.

Issue is we are pretty locked in at 1st, SS and 3rd and honestly DH.

I think He share 2B with Dugas against RHP and Dugas starts against all LHP.

Dugas cant sit against righties right now either. Itll be a good problem to have. Dugas played corner outfield before, he can easily do it if needed to allow nippolt some at bats. And nippolt im sure will be a late inning defensive sub alot

Ill take that bet! When Tanks is back Nippolt is headed to the bench. No way we see Dugas getting benched

Guess you don’t like a .500/.636/.750 state line.

It’s looking like Jones is the guy unless he slumps.

If he keeps hitting like this definitly no reason to sit him ever. He is in pace for like 37 home runs.

But we’ll probably keep Nippolt in the mix.
