boooooo

I've made better lists while driving a beater with bad tires, at night, on I-10, on my phone, in the left lane

False, Huey changed his mind on Thomas, who had agreed on terms

I understand. It’s a rather goofy meaningless distinction. That being said, Kelly was ultimately a very mediocre HIRE. Hell, I’d assert Dinardo was a MUCH better one.

I don’t think you do understand. When you say “Kelly was ultimately a very mediocre hire” you’re not understanding that the list is created while ignoring hindsight.

Why did Jeff Duncan write that column instead of Scott Rabalais? Duncan barely covers LSU.

The ranking is based on their qualifications as of the time they were hired. Not the results they ultimately achieved.

This is explained clearly in the quotes.

Given the criteria, it's a very reasonable list. Whatever happened with Kelly, he left NOTRE DAME to come here. You have to be a certain age to understand what that signifies I guess.

Anyone ahead of Saban is RUBBISH... Prior to Saban 30 years without a new years bowl win OR beating Bama at home.

He’s correct. LSU had 38 players & no structure when the hired Kelly. He literally brought that back.

Would any Tiger fan risk enjoying the 2019 season by not hiring Ed O? Not in your lifetime!!!
Saban? I remember someone called Buddy D the say Saban was hired, complaining. Buddy said “you ain’t gonna rain on this parade!” We knew exactly who we hired that day.

That's completely stupid .Saban shaped LSU football from his hire foreward....he brought the program into the national spotlight...idiotic.

Kelly went 34-14 but ultimately failed because of complacency and a faltering offense, but the hire was widely heralded at the time it was made.

By who? No LSU fans liked Kelly while he was at Notre Dame, then when he was hired by LSU the sentiment was WTF more than anything else.

He’s talking about the hire and how high profile it was. Not the results. I actually thought that was obvious but apparently not.

It is obvious to anyone with a brain that actually read any of the snippets. This thread is exposing the excruciatingly low IQ of this board

Sorry, Miles at #5, he one of the best coaches ever at LSU. Averaging 9 wins per year. Played for 2 titles. Should be 2 or 3. LK has yet to prove anything.

My god we STILL have people responding to this thread without understanding the (very obvious, mind you) point of the article
