'The Chute': The Newest Premium Area of Tiger Stadium
BATON ROUGE – “The Chute,” the newest addition to Tiger Stadium, will be unveiled when LSU opens the 2018 home schedule against Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday, Sept. 8.
The Chute will be open to any fan 21-years of age or older with a game ticket. Located on the ground level of the south side of Tiger Stadium, The Chute will give fans the opportunity to purchase beer and food while watching the game and highlights on a giant-screen HD video board and numerous HD televisions.
The Chute, which will have a capacity of approximately 1,250 fans, is located between Gates 23 and 28 on the south side of Tiger Stadium. The Chute opens 2 hours and 30 minutes prior to kickoff each week and will close at the beginning of the fourth quarter.

Is this the only place the general fan can buy beer in Tiger Stadium? There are designated places on the top of the south upper and in suites but those areas are closed off. The lines are going to be insane.

It’s a great idea but I guarantee there is going to be 5 thousand fans trying to get in if they are selling beer.

They’re missing out by not calling it “The Win Bar”

Don't blame LSU, it's the conference's insane restrictions that are at fault.

admission to The Chute includes two beverages and is $20 a person. Additional beverages can be purchased for $6 inside the premium area. Food service in The Chute will be provided by Burgersmith, which will serve their menu items cooked fresh on-site from a food truck.
Water and soft drinks will also be available in The Chute.
Due to Southeastern Conference regulations, all beer must be consumed in The Chute.

Anything to stop you from purchasing a beer and bringing it back to your seat?
NM, saw my answer.
So basically they are giving people a perk to NOT sit in their seat?

This is a great idea and I applaud the AD for trying to push through the BS of the SEC banning beer.
LSU is sincere in its attempt in getting alcohol sold in the stadium. I’m actually surprised they are getting away with this.
Not sure why the SEC ban; if you don’t want YOUR school to sell booze, then don’t. Otherwise why get in other schools’ way?

They cleared out all of that south end zone area before last season. This is a pretty good idea for what to do with that area.

This would be a great place to hang in the event of a rain delay.

That’s actually not terrible for a stadium beer price
Posted on 8/22/18 at 3:17 pm to Oilfieldbiology
They should just make it $10 a beer. Wouldn't be bad to have a beer at halftime.

Or they could leave it at $6 and still make an insane profit while not having to hear us complain about insane price gouging for beer

Forget the beer, I'm just happy to keep up with the game on a tv made after 1999.
