So the new board is in the north end zone? Any change in the south end zone?

Yes, the two smaller screens are replaced with larger screens (static ad space below the previous screens were absorbed for the bigger screens) and IIRC, all the ribbon boards around the stadium were replaced, too.

Should look fantastic, but people will still bitch no doubt.

I feel like this is getting lost in all the scoreboard talk, but the sideline ribbon boards have finally been expanded to the full lengths of the east and west upper decks.

I believe they may have added a ribbon board between the two sections of the lower bowl (SEZ) based on pics/vids I’ve seen.

I saw that too. I wish they would get rid of the static board underneath the two ribbon boards in SEZ.

It’s just another billboard that will advertise score, down, and distance. On the plus side, it is bigger.

There's been so much bitching about how "i don't need no light show gimmick in my stadium! Get off my lawn!!" But the first home game when they turn the stadium purple like that for whatever pre game show they've got planned is going to be electric.

They should’ve wrapped it around the whole north end of the stadium

I agree, but I’m sure they would’ve had to spend a lot longer on the engineering and making sure the structural supports go far enough in to the stadium across the whole NEZ.

Is this a completely new video board or just new guts and screen on old supports except where it will be taller and wider than the previous board?

The old board was completely stripped to the structure and everything is new. It’s still using the old supports. I’m not sure if more were added.

All that money on scoreboards, can they get the game clock to work correctly. Every couple of games the ref makes the announcement that the clock will be kept on the field after some type of clock malfunction.

That big crane at the top is just fixing to raise the giant Coca-Cola sign in place.

I fully expect some kind of giant static public eyesore ad to frick this new board up aesthetically.

I don't mind advertising by any company as long as the ads scroll off and on at various points during the game, but I abhorre large static ads like that Coca-Cola abomination. (Tony Chachere's at the Box and Cox at the PMAC)

It is much bigger than the old one. But I wish this one was 15 feet taller.

I love it. Looks much cleaner than the old one with all the extra structure it had around it.

Keep in mind that the “trim” stuff will probably be the last thing they do. I would expect that they’ll probably install something in front of the speaker arrays (previously it was the signs with the list of SEC/national titles IIRC).

I kind of hope they just leave the top flat rather than putting trim over it like the old board, because I do think it looks cleaner. But it wouldn’t surprise me if they put something on top of the video board as well.
