Did you enjoy the light show?

I'll be curious to see if it's any better this weekend. Other schools use their light shows multiple times during the game (team entrance, touchdowns, etc.), not just to start the fourth quarter. Surely we can figure it out.

Absolutely spot on.

Especially complaining about people complaining.

I miss the natty and sec 'ship stats. Bring that back and for crying out loud let's go ahead and retire #3 for Kevin Faulk already.

The scoreboard stinks. The lights were a waste of money. The fireworks are dumb.

The people that are actually there to watch the game and not to just there to be a socialite aren't getting any louder because of a graphic of "get loud". DV will get loud again when we have top opponents and a good team. You can get more people to stay by providing more in game updates from around CFB and fix the cell data.

There were multiple times I never knew the down, yards to go, and the yard line the ball spotted on, due to this not being shown on the screen.

If you were keeping up with the game wouldn’t you know what down it was

At the kickoff game in Vegas they didn't show a single replay of any plays that were under review.

I think they stopped doing this several years ago at both the college and NFL level. The crowd is less likely to riot if they don't see the replay. Its dumb and I hate it. I am paying to be in the stadium, don't actively make the stadium viewing worse than at home viewing on purpose.

I find it astounding that with the new lights and new score board, both are colossal frick ups

I don't, when you consider the same people are operating the boards

I’m certainly glad you have the answer for everything, while complaining about complainers, the irony.

I know I shouldn’t engage, but I will.

I am 100% keeping up with the game. But did you know, on 2nd or 3rd & short, and a play looks to *maybe* make it back to the line of scrimmage - it can actually be hard to tell from far away, especially if taking place on the other if field. God forbid I want to know if they gained a yard, lost a yard, so I look up to the screen to see - alas, it’s not there but “Bring the noise” sure is.

How about the people I am at the game with, my parents 70+ YO, one who has declining vision, can see the game and all, but also can’t quite pickup exact yard lines from afar, and they want to check the scoreboard for assistance/verifying as well.

Insert a text from the babysitter that now needs a reply. Here comes the guy down the aisle for the 10th time this quarter. I could go on, about how one can pay attention to the game, miss one thing, in- or out- of their control, and be confused that they can find no info on the big arse scoreboard.

But thank you for understating 100% of somebody’s situation, 100% of the time. And props to you for being 100% aware of the exact yardage & yards to-go of every single play!

It all makes sense when you acknowledge it is all to enhance MMR's, Canes', etc...in game experience, and not yours.

Overdramatize much? Not sure how the quote you posted got in your reply to me, because I never said it, but this sort of hyperbole is stupid.

Was simply pointing out that the big screen isn't the only place to look in the stadium for the information that was being discussed. Sorry that this upsets so many people. Did everyone think that these new scoreboards were just going to have everything they want and need at every second of the game?

I really can't even imagine talking to people around me and whining about not having the down and distance on a screen. Look at the field and the other scoreboards if you can't keep up.

Totally not being a condescending prick.

Here's the real problem:

Our marketing team uses the full board capabilities depending on the rhythm of the game with the goal to engage our fans to show our opponents why Death Valley is a special place.

I did the same. It’s infuriating to not be able to see down and distance at all times. I looked at my son and asked if I was crazy that I was aggravated that I couldn’t see it. Women should not like football this much.

If they can put the clock on the video screen while “get loud” on the others they can put d and D with the clock.

Upgrades my arse. None of it is better. Sound wasn’t good in the sez.

3 games in and I can’t help but think the new screen doesn’t even feel bigger

It's the screen ratio. It's a massive screen, but most other college stadiums use a "taller" screen and they just (subjectively) look larger. LSU went for length, but when it comes down to it chicks always dig the girth more.
