Hopefully the TR editor who posts here will see this thread

You realize these guys have basically the same credentials as the average Rant poster. Their opinion is worth no more any anybody else's. They're willing to work for peanuts and somebody is willing to pay them that much to write a few columns and talk on the radio.

Anyone who doesn't see the great ability that Mett has from his performance last year is an idiot! I had to ride home on a private jet after our loss to FLA this past year and listen to several friends bemoan Mett's lack of footwork and leadership - it made me sick
Probably not as sick as you made the rest of us feel by bringing up something irrelevant like flying home on a private jet.

I hope the TR guys do see it. I always listen to the show to learn more about the team. Tonight's show was pretty much them expecting the same ole offense and Cam isn't going to make a difference because he isn't that good of an OC. I'm just happy that we have a respected man at OC. Crowton wasn't what he use to be when Les brought him in and Kragthorpe wasn't the hot name we were hoping for. We finally got a guy with a stud resume and our TR guys crapped all over it. How about telling us all of Cams strong points in producing a productive offense. They even mentioned that his offense wasn't any heigher than 13th in the NFL.
13th in the NFL >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 85th in the NCAA

TR may just be right but it will be for the wrong reason.
Love (actually hate) all these prophets telling everyone exactly what is going to happen with this guy and his play calling and coaching. They don't know shite, only guessing. And not guessing very well in my opinion.

I disagree with them too but they're entitled to their opinion, even if it's flawed.

None of us do.

I really can't argue with much there except that very many fans here are not and never take the "wait and see" approach.

I definitely am not a sunshine pumper when it comes to LSU/Les Miles - but I am getting sick of the negativity with everything the guy does.
Miles shocked me in making a change. And not only did he make a change, he hired the perfect guy for the job, with NFL experience.
This is not a BBQ hire. It's the real deal. It just so happens that Les knows him from Michigan.

So Baltimore installed a complete new Offence to win the Super Bowl?? No it was CC Offence. They just need someone to call plays on time and good plays. Not the dive play with Whoever at RB.
Love the hire we have hope.

New media has been setup for failure before....see the Billy Gonzales experience.
I think they are a bit gun shy now......with good reason I might add.

That's why they are RADIO host and not coaches or scouts..

IMO, Cam needs to be allowed to change they way LSU practices. It's obvious that what happens on the practice field isn't translating to the game field.
Without question, one of the best posts this site's seen in many moons. This sentence hits home for me.
The lack of execution out of our offense for me is a great example of how this team practices. Miles brought in that Big Cat drill with Gonzales and that may have brought the intensity level up. But what we need is better execution.
That happens in practice. Instilling discipline and toughness. Demanding we do what we're supposed to do, when we're supposed to do it, the way its supposed to be done.
Look at JC Copeland after that PF against Alabama that screwed us out of a scoring opportunity. Look at his undisciplined, gasket-blowing reaction to his own egregious error? That's an example of a much bigger problem.
I'm hoping that Studrawa is able to look past the demotion and finally start to fine-tune the OL and make it a beast and not just a battering ram that mauls people using TOP & downhill running with the FB.
I'm hoping we cut down on mental errors. I'm hoping we focus on an attention to detail that this program is simply lacking...and has been for some time.

I believe what the players, like Drew Brees say! Not some slap dick from Tiger Rag who doesn't know nearly as much as guys like Brees, Flacco and Rivers! I'm pumped up about the addition!
"Slapdick" is a good description. The only difference between some of these sports "commentators" and your average Rantard is the former shows his arse on live radio.

1. They read a article from Baltimore that point out CC's shortcomings.
2. They said that Mettenberger might be a good QB not great.
3. Miles will continue to be the problem with the offense, because he won't keep his hands off. Big picture: the offense will continue to be Les.
4. It will be the same conservative offense.
5. Looking at the offense's players, there won't be anything great to expect.
6. They don't think CC had many options other than LSU. (Questioning his ability or couldn't find a NFL team who wanted him)
7. Detiller, who I really like, only talked about improvement at QB. No talk about better play calling or player usage.
8. They questioned the fans excitement. "The fans act like Bill Walsh is coming to town. "
I'm just not hearing anything positive from these guys. I know everyone is taking a wait and see but I'm pretty excited about the change. Stud wasn't the first choice for OC. Kragthorpe got ill so they made the change. I was hoping they would shed some light of CC's strengths that could better the team.
That is like basically saying LSU has peaked and there is no way they can get over the hump due to Miles' meddling.

He might not be anything special, he might have them playing in the sec title game, nobody knows and will not know until they take the field in September. Might see an exact carbon copy of the offense from last year, might not. No point in being 100% negative against the guy but no point in crowning miles coach of the year and lsu bcs national champions either.

Put up the following two rankings in terms of percentile using profootballreference.com.
Coach 1 (11 yrs): W/L (66%); Yds: (56); Pts: (66); Off. Giveaways: (75); Rush Att.: (71), Rush Yds.: (75); Rush TDs; (82); Rush Y/A (67); Fewest fumbles (68), Pass Att. (40); Pass Yds. (44); Pass Tds (55); Fewest INT (73); Net Yards per pass attempt (55); Cat. Avg (63). 10 categories over 60, 5 categories over 70, 1 category over 80.
Coach 2 (14 yrs.): W/L (64%); Yds: (55); Pts: (50); Off. Giveaways: (54); Rush Att.: (60), Rush Yds.: (54); Rush TDs; (51); Rush Y/A (52); Fewest fumbles (42), Pass Att. (54); Pass Yds. (57); Pass Tds (56); Fewest INT (62); Net Yards per pass attempt (51); Cat. Avg (55). 3 categories over 60, 0 categories over 70, 0 category over 80.
Coach 1 is Cam Cameron. Coach 2 is Jon Gruden. Now, obviously Jon Gruden has been an excellent had coach and Cam Cameron hasn't but most football fans would be shocked if they objectively looked at the production of their respective offenses throughout their careers.

Cam Cameron and Bill Walsh have the same number of No. 1-ranked NFL scoring offenses: 1. Cam Cameron had three top 5 scoring offenses in his 11 years in the NFL. Bill Walsh had four.
I'm obviously not in any way comparing Cam Cameron to Bill Walsh. I just find it funny that so many people are so skeptical when Cam Cameron had a No. 1-ranked scoring offense in the NFL and the offense he designed just won the Super Bowl. He's not perfect, and we'll all see the results, but Cam Cameron has been a highly competent NFL offensive coordinator for a decade.
