I’m not defending him at all but this isn’t true.

We hired a veteran coach to stabilize a program that O had driven into the ground at Mach 1.

Did Whit Weeks start? If he didn't, I'd like for Kelly to try and explain that.

You don't give an old declining stabilizer a 10 year 100 million dollar contract. If we were hiring one of those guys, it would have been Urban Meyer or similar on a 4-5 year deal. Kelly was hired to be THE GUY for the next decade and bring us multiple championships quickly.

This G-D excuse every MFin time. Who are these people who keep bringing this up? 3 years ago even if everyone had stayed and we had 85 scholarship players they would almost all be gone now anyways to graduation/ eligibility

I am not in the “we’ll never win” group.

he took over a mess, and you’re not gonna replace half the team through the portal.

I still expect this team to go 10-3. the Defense actually looked a lot better and I think the tweak on offense will be a huge change

We just need to take shots down field which will make safeties play back and open up the run game.

Kelly seems to be more worried about what his office looks like than being a great football coach.

The football team was executing most of the game and Kelly held them back.

His anger is misplaced.

i hate to do this, but i actually agree with SammyTiger. I rewatched the game this morning. We lost due to dumb penalties and overly conservative playcalling by Joe Sloan.

Stop melting down. We have a good team with a significantly improved Defense. We lost a game we shouldnt have, but the season isn’t over.

LSU hit on transfers so well in 2022 combined with a few really good pieces from the 2020 class and it convinced the fanbase that Brian had already rebuilt the program.

The truth is that his first hires on the defensive side didn’t work out. His DL coach left for the NFL and his second coach medically retired. The DC hire was rushed and flopped.

Kelly’s arrival also coincided with the explosion of NIL and it’s taken a bit to work it out. It’s caused massive turmoil in the CFB world just since Kelly’s arrival with Jimbo being fired, Clemson falling off the map, and Saban retiring.

LSU will need to ramp up their efforts in NIL and the transfer portal. The ‘25 class already looks great but they need to hold on and find some defensive players in the portal to ice the cake.

I still think LSU can go undefeated the rest of the way. This defense is going to improve every week and Garrett will adjust quicker than Jayden did. Brad Davis, Frank Wilson, and Joe Sloan should be able to figure out this run scheme by the time they play UCLA.

How many years are we going to use this “rebuilding/O-left-a-mess” excuse? Since NIL and freakin math don’t seem to exist in Baton Rouge anymore.

Like a moth to a flame. If you were in charge, we’d still have your buddy O and Pomansky running the team.

So here is how its gonna go. He will blame failures on those assistants. Then hire his friends. Show just enough improvement to not be fired, but never really contend.

He’s already gotten rid of everyone he knew out side of Denbrock, who left.

He got your sorry asses to a fricking playoff and a Championship Game I guess that’s “just enough to not be fired.”

Brad Davis as o line coach is a bust.

It’s fricking insane how stupid some of you are. Do you remember how bad O’s last OL was and how little of that was left in 22? Only one of his recruits from before 22 had an impact and all of the others left because they all sucked. This was a complete, ground up rebuild.

Yes, the run blocking still isn’t good enough. But frick me- the pass blocking is not a problem. This OL is great to elite in that phase. That’s not FAILURE starting year 3 with this group. We are also recruiting better on the OL than any time since Saban was here.

Just damn, man. Get out of your feelings.

We don’t need to give him any more time or money or players. This is his third year here.

He wasn’t paid a “we’ll give you til nearly half of this Jimbo copycat contract is up to get this program up to the winning standard again. No worries. We understand” money.

He was paid with a “fix this program. Here’s a guaranteed 100 mill, you have until year 2 to fix LSU football, but we better see huge improvement instantly.” contract.

It’s year three. This program is not on it’s way up. His seat should be burning arse hot today.

See you are still being salty because you dont want to hear what every ND fan tried to tell you.

ND fans wanted kelly gone for 5 years before he left. Hes a good coach, not great and sucks in big games.

Kelly tried to leave every year, but no one would pay him. He came back and asked for more money every year.

You are seeing everything we warned you about. Enjoy 3rd place again.
