That’s true everywhere but Baton Rouge. Folks around here think Woodward is the Coach Whisperer. That’s how we got where we are. :rolleyes:

Woodward will probably get a promotion out of this. 75% of Baton Rouge still thinks he’s the coach whisperer despite the fact he’s never coached a second of anything. It is what it is.

He chewed out the kicker for you, not for the team. He wanted to be seen chewing somebody out and a kicker probably won’t turn the whole team against him.

Very true and exactly what’s wrong with sports journalism in Baton Rouge. Everyone too afraid to ask direct questions and basically ends up talking about a coaches favorite color after big games because they’re afraid the coach will get offended. It’s why press conferences are so hard to watch.

Regardless, nobody can think about getting rid of him for another 5 due to Woodward’s “genius”. In the meantime, guess we just have to watch the show and listen to him lecture us about process in postgame press conferences.

This was painfully obvious when we hired him. Don’t know why it’s surprising now. Next year will be worse.

The root cause is Woodward. He’s never coached a down of football or any other sport for that matter. He’s not the coach whisperer everybody has built him up to be. Mulkey wanted to come home for her last run no matter who the AD was. That was a no brainer and just a matter of getting the money right. Jay Johnson was likely a fluke. Kelly will prove to be a flat-out bad hire. I don’t think we can afford, financially, to dump Kelly for at least another 4-5 years so we may as well find something to love about that guy. Whatever happens in the coming years, with Woodward driving the bus…well…we’ll likely get run over.

It’s been a couple of years but there’s a bar on McMurdo, Gallager’s if I remember. Doubt they’ll have it, though. Still a cool place.
