At least the NFL has a draft, a salary cap and long term contracts. College has no controls.

How can a coach build depth like this?

By using the transfer portal.

The main thing is that coaches with systems that aren't super complicated or take a long time to learn are likely to be better set up in this new era. Lou Tepper would be in shambles. lol

Id like to see total number of entries into the portal by year since the transfer portal was created. Not just LSU, NCAA as a whole. Bet that would be interesting

If a player wants to leave within that said contract, work out a trade and be compensated to that schools collective fund

football players go out of business?

If the universities get out of the college football business then there is no college football marketplace.

Sure, a professional minor league could develop and all of those players who would have played college football can go play there. But it will be about as financially successful at the recent iterations of the XFL, USFL, etc.

That's how the necessary change comes about.

You won't see a team like LSU 2019 with this system.

You’d actually be more likely to see it as you could fill positions of need far more easily now from year to year.

Try being a fan of a G5 program or a mediocre program and not one of the top 20 programs in the country.

There will never be a “minor league” football division. The NFzl would just draft and develop high school players themselves.

All people have to do is stop spending money watching college football and it will all end.

I’m hopeful that this causes college to do away with sports and a whole lot less kids get to feel entitled. This is truly ruining college sports. To not even be close to knowing who your team is mad up of or to know about what you think the team can do the following year is nuts and a very bad look for college sports . These entitled kids will have to go to the minor league football sponsored by the NFL not local colleges and they will learn very hard lessons about life real quick
