It sucks for McMahon because by all accounts he is a great guy and it just didn’t work out. But the longer they keep this festering I think the more it goes from “he’s a good dude who just couldn’t get it done” to nastier things being thrown around and he doesn’t deserve that. Athletic admin needs to do their job.
I enjoyed Wade’s time here but there are other coaches out there. If they can’t keep whatever plan they have with Wade on the DL until he’s bounced from the tourney, then they need to start looking at Schertz or elsewhere. I know schertz is in the tourney too, but it’s pretty open and known at this point he will get courted by other schools with openings.

It's astonishing at the number of people that follow this team, and still oblivious to this fact. The General and LSU have both locked this down literally months ago.

Oklahoma announced late last week their intentions on retaining their coach. Given his results over a 4 year period I would be surprised if an announcement was not made and the fact it has not been made yet does indicate they are at least looking into options first imo.

I get that way back at the time of the initial hire, they were trying to save face with the ncaa and this seemed like a good hire on paper to some, but man I never liked this hire at all.

FWIW, McMahon has not been informed whether he’s staying or going. Could mean status quo, but I find it odd under the current circumstances that no conversations would have taken place if he’s 100% staying. This lends credibility to the theory that LSU is waiting on someone whose season hasn’t ended.

Who cares if he’s a good guy! He’s not a good coach. He’s literally done nothing but build a really expensive house.

The right thing would’ve been to rethink what the best direction for the program was going to be. How much do we want to spend, what kind of competitive team, style wise, would fit in that price range then hire someone who fits that on the cheap and establish the culture/style you decided on. Get through the down period then upgrade the coach or even better that coach has success. Thats how you navigate a period like that. Instead Woody made an uniformed, overpriced hire and crippled the program
