Maybe our new kindship can get you to ease up when I am on the poli board?

Ouch…. Not one proven , decent guy. Time to get to work.

I think Kardell could play center if he got his body in shape, he needs to lose some bad weight

Unless we get a true C in the portal, I think Shorts will be our C. We have enough options at guard to put out a good starting 5 without needing Shorts there. But, it would be nice to get a true C and put Shorts at G.

Kardell needs to be at Southern to get any significant playing time. (Not anywhere close to being an LSU/SEC caliber OL)
Maybe GOAT OL Coach Brad Davis (According to the Rant knockers) can do some miracle level coaching on him and make him serviceable in the SEC. (Not happening imo)

"He's still there repping LA."
Southern and many other smaller colleges are located in LA as well.
Kelly and Quinn gonna have a heart attack when they go through this first Spring practice.
First smart move before Spring practice starts is movinging Martinez to Center.

"We are in great shape if we can get someone to be a true SEC starter at Center.
Well, there was the big grad transfer Center from WISCONSIN that signed with Florida State. He was out there for the taking and Brad Davis didn't lift a finger to get him here.
LSU recruit and future starting Center Lucas Taylor of Mobile (6-4 315) decommitted from LSU about a week after Davis was hired by Shrimpy and signed with Miss.State.
What happened to the portal OL from Notre Dame? Who did he sign with? (Davis said he looked a little bit too much like Thor to bother with.

Center is going to be one of the following:
Shorts, Dellinger, West, or Martinez.
In order of probability:
1. Shorts
2. Dellinger
9. Martinez
23. West

quote:I think we'll regret this. It was Cregg who didn't want Taylor, but Davis never went after him after he decommitted from MSST. He definitely had a poor showing at camp. But with the right development I think he will be solid. Maybe more. He'd be a project, but a good project is how I see it.

Lucas Taylor has slow feet and got abused at camp last summer. Staff processed him before wasting a scholarship

Bro that’s what I’m saying. Now a days I’m just happy guys are still on the team working for their spot.

quote:I seem to remember him holding his own when his assignment was right in front of him on run plays but either didn't get a piece of his initial assignment trying to get to his second level responsibility or go too involved with the first block and coundn't get off it to get to the second level when the defender wasn't over him.
He played this past season towards the end. Big boy was moving pretty well on a couple plays.
Same thing when he pulled but looked more like indecision than from physical encounters.
He for sure did get it moving pretty well a couple times.
Don't have my game recordings or I'd be able to tell you this stuff for sure - right or wrong.

First, do we know for a fact that Delly is considered as a prospective Center by the Coaches? I've been all for seeing if he can snap it since he got to campus, but haven't seen anything definitive saying he's working out at/could play Center. Did I miss something?
Taylor's body put me off him right off the bat. Lower half wasn't as naturally strong as I would expect from any IOL prospect. He just didn't look the part for me. I see EJ as the prototype IOL body - though if I'm right he can play anywhere on the line.
To each his own.
How cool is it for Davis as a Coach to have so many options with the knowledge you've got two potential All SEC guys, and the flexibility to try to get another plug and play guy to bolster the work you've already done with your holdovers plus a couple stud frosh.
I'm not going to sleep on Bradford, Martinez, and - surprise - Kimo, either.
