First, do we know for a fact that Delly is considered as a prospective Center by the Coaches? I've been all for seeing if he can snap it since he got to campus, but haven't seen anything definitive saying he's working out at/could play Center. Did I miss something?
No, nothing definitive... yet. I'm basing it on the following:

- he was intelligent enough to earn playing time 1/2 way through a freshman year at OT even when his performance wasn't that great. If you can't get the calls, assignments, and adjustments down you won't see the field, no matter how good you are. It is an indicator, a strong one, that he's got a jump for that over others and has what it takes between the football-ears to be a C. Not every hoss does.

- Our offense will very likely not look like 2019-2021. Hence I'm assuming we will not be in shotgun 99.9% of the time. Meaning teaching someone to snap just became significantly easier. The question is however, we will be in shotgun (or pistol?) some... how much? 50% of snaps? That's the same as 100% for snapping and brings that into question. So it will come down to firstly does he have long snapping ability we don't know about? I do know he's flirted with it. Davis had everybody flirt with it. I do not know the results. Secondly is what snapping style do we need?

Taylor's body put me off him right off the bat. Lower half wasn't as naturally strong as I would expect from any IOL prospect. He just didn't look the part for me. I see EJ as the prototype IOL body - though if I'm right he can play anywhere on the line.
Firstly, Emory Jones is going to be awesome. Love that kid. Get that out of the way. Taylor doesn't even come close.

Yeah, Taylor's body is ugly from a OL point of view. Very. And that's a factor in his feet. He would take a lot of molding- on that we agree. But, I see a guy with a good frame, who desperately wants to be at LSU, and from everything we know about him would put in that work. Coaches can work with that. He's not terribly overweight, just lacks muscle and core strength. Overall I see what is the our OL's Achilles heal for years- coaches at the HS level that didn't get him ready. What I am seeing is a kid with a want and a frame who needs someone to coach and train him. Today it is getting hard to find either coachable or full effort guys. One that is both on a good frame, with a spot to burn, is worth going for. I'd rather that than a guy who was given stars for every 20 lbs overweight (carried badly) he is.

Kardell needs to be at Southern to get any significant playing time. (Not anywhere close to being an LSU/SEC caliber OL) Maybe GOAT OL Coach Brad Davis (According to the Rant knockers) can do some miracle level coaching on him and make him serviceable in the SEC. (Not happening imo)

I think we'll regret this. It was Cregg who didn't want Taylor, but Davis never went after him after he decommitted from MSST. He definitely had a poor showing at camp. But with the right development I think he will be solid. Maybe more. He'd be a project, but a good project is

He looked pretty bad at that camp.

The one we should've kept was cole smith who was signed to play center.

I'll never understand how Charles turner even got a scholarship in the first place.

I think Shorts is our center, and I think Jones starts at one of the guard positions no later than game 3 or 4.
Pretty much wit chu. So many possibilities everywhere besides Frazier at LT.
Whoever ends up where, I think we head into the Auburn game with the group at the spots they're gonna be expected to play from then on.
How Davis/CBK/Quinn get these guys to mesh will be cool to watch.
We gotta find a way to beat FSU & MSU first.

Well he wasn’t recruited for his arse ....so there’s that.
True. Though I understand that because of it's sheer size, on more than one continent it is spoken of with reverence and described as "Majestic".

I’ve posted a million times here, we have to find a center. Go get one out the portal Kelly and not one from the Ivy League. The only one I’d trust on the current roster would be Tremond Shorts only because he is like a 5th year senior. No experience at center but more game experience then anybody else considered for center. And we signed Frazier to be an immediate starter eith at LT or RT.
PS doubt Kardell contributes again. Really don’t know what his deal is. Over 2 years since his injury.
Been there with you on the Center play since (I think) the 3rd game into Shanny's career. Great heart but not an SEC West Center.
That Shorts could play Center is why I advocated a while back for (at least) one more plug and play from the portal if possible. An experienced IOL would make all the difference in being able to put Shorts where he can make the most difference.
If we don't bag one more IOL after Spring it tells me we prolly have 6 or 5 guys who have shown enough improvement that the Coaches believe they can play IOL already.

I don't think so either. Did I hear somewhere that Martinez was getting a look at center? He played pretty well at G last year when he got the opportunity
I like him for a starter at one of the IOL spots. Been liking him since day one. Seems to have a little bit of "it" there.
I'm pretty sure he played some C in HS but could be wrong.

Since I wasn't sure what you were talking about, I checked your admin record. I haven't banned you, or even sent you a PM, in over 4 years. Your problems on the Poli Board have not been with me.

Thank you.

C'mon, My Man! You know he's got to spit out some kind of bullshite drivel every night around this time so he can be spanked and sent to bed.

Yeah. Good calls on (and hopefully by) Delly.
Fair enough points on Taylor. Hey, I know he signed real early but did he make statements about wanting to come here? Was a Cregg guy.
Has he signed on w/anybody after leaving MSU?
