The committee CONSTANTLY screws LSU in seeding. It goes back to the Dale days, and is continuing because they can't pin jack on the General.

Anyone that can show me a year we got a fair seed, I can show you THREE where we got screwed. And I'm not an announcers or refs hate LSU fan. This is CRIMINAL.

Agreed. LSU always gets a seed two- three spots lower than they should. Without fail.

Then we had to beat georgia tech at the omni, as well as kentucky in catlanta. Don't forget that. We were also the reason they changed the rule about playing in the tournament on your home floor.

Most of college sports is criminal with backroom deals for players to go to this or that school. Why should selections be different. It is all a cesspool.

This reminds me of the season where we had Marcus Thornton. We got an 8 matched up against 9 seed Butler who had Gordon Hayward, and then our second round match up was eventual national champ North Carolina.

It doesn't change ONE SYLLABLE of what you said, but it DESTROYS the narrative that we waltzed down the yellow brick road that year. After 2 close home games, we had to likewise go win 2 tough road games (it's called catlanta for a reason). So while the first 2 home games were a springboard, we still had a very tough road to make it to Dallas that year.

This

LSU has had wonderfully talented players come through the program and zero NCs.

Final Fours are for the Mississippi States to be excited about.

When LSU is in the tournament then LSU has a chance and it’s on the team to make the best of it.

Stop bitching about ancient history, it’s poor form.

Let’s hope this is a year for the history books.

Seeding is what it is. You’re going to have to beat a top team at some point.

And yes, LSU fans seem whinier than others.

Even the best of teams still get excited about going to the Final Four.

I don’t succumb to conspiracies but this would be a good one. Not likely.

Yea, 44 years. Starting with the 1977-78 team which didn't make neither the NCAA nor the NIT tournaments. And that team had one of the best starting lineups in LSU history, and finished 18-9 overall (12-6 in SEC), and were #30 in SOS (out of 253). That team beat #1 Kentucky in front of an overflow crowd in the PMAC in OT, after all five starters had fouled out! And the uniforms the Tigers were that season were classics, and have not been seen since (even as throwbacks).

Starting lineup that year:

Rudy Macklin-F
Dwayne Scales-F
Kenny Higgs-G
Jordy Hultberg-G
Ethan Martin-G

Other players included Lionel Green (C), Rick Mattick (C) and Willie Sims (G).
