who benefited more from JD coming to LSU? Certainly wasn’t 9-3 LSU. JD doesn’t win a heisman if he stays at ASU

JD probably ends up an UDFA if he doesn’t come to LSU.
No doubt he has directly made millions off coming to LSU.

Florida. Numbers worn by Spurrier, Wuerffel, and Tebow are still in play. Retiring a number is stupid in college. Statues for Heisman winners, a Ring of Honor or school Hall of Fame should be plenty of "profound respect". Stop with the number nonsense.

I hope Pickett wins a Heisman. That would be awesome in many ways.

And then LSU immediately holds a press conference announcing the retirement of number 5 in his honor

I’ll settle for the Jim Thorpe. That’s way more attainable for him.

Did JD object to SHARING #5 in 2023 with Laterrence Welch a sophomore DB?

LSU should add a rule requiring playing in the bowl game to get your number retired.

I’m sad because I wanted a JD statue. I think his mom just killed that.

LSU owns the number. LSU owns the Heisman trophy given to the university. Period. End of discussion.

Time for Jayden to cease and desist from being a moron.

He also needs much better advice and counsel. The c&d letter was frankly amateurish in both content and even its basic appearance. His lawyer sucks.

I'm not a fan of retiring any numbers, but Burrow lead the greatest team ever while Daniels didn't even play in the bowl game. He seems selfish to pull this nonsense.

Didn't Burrow sit at the end of some blowouts? Daniels probably benefitted from a historically bad D from an offensive stats perspective, but still lost 3 games? Should have had lots of opportunities, but I'm not digging into all the stats. There will be lots of elite players come and go. The university should be more important than one player. Especially a player clearly using LSU that doesn't even care to wish the next guy with a previous number the best.

Daniels probably wins a national championship if he had a team with a defense in his Heisman winning season.
How does anyone downvote this? If we had a defense, we easily could have one a championship. If you add an offensive line and a running game, it’s a no brainer.

If my aunt had a di*k, she’d by my uncle. It didn’t happen.

The team lost 3 games, and the team’s QB opted out of the bowl game. That’s what happened. It turns out that 10 other guys were on the field helping the QB on offense, and the QB won the heisman, an award he had 0% chance of winning had he not transferred from his prior school, ergo LSU made him, not the other way around.

This ordeal will be the biggest regret of his career, and I hope LSU never mentions or illustrates him in any capacity again, as well as couples that position with a policy that JD is never allowed on the field, in the locker room, or at the facilities again.

I've been proud of Jayden Daniels for what he gave LSU and would pull for him to win in any of the Commander games. But now, my admiration and faith in him is dwindling because of this number fiasco.
This is not a very good look for him, and the longer he continues with this cease and desist bullshite, the more negative feelings will arise from Tiger fans.
C'mon, man...let it go! You won a Heisman, but you didn't play in the final game of the season. You left us when we needed you, most! You weren't that special, JD.

If we had won a championship then we’d probably still be stuck with CBK.

So I guess I’m kind of glad the way it all worked out. At least for now.

If JD5 hadn’t done this idiotic thing he would have one day been on the stadium with Casanova, Cannon, Stovall, Burrow, Alexander and Bert Jones. He still can be, but it will take time and a little effort on his part.
