I agree with this. I get so caught up with the way people argue on this site that I sometimes ignore the arguments being made.

It annoys a lot of people.

Nickelberry was dealt a shite hand so I won't shite on him.

But there was 5-6 plays that definitely showed that will wade wasn't on the sideline to me.

And for his in game faults One of Will's best assets was gameplanning for teams. I don't think it's a coincidence that the team hung their worst offensive first half of the season and lowest point total in 2 months.

The big issue with this team was poor basketball IQ and guard play, when that's the case you have to look to the coach to take some of that load on. Nickelberry wasn't as capable as Wade to take that on, irregardless of what you think of muh X's and O's.

This point exactly, I never understood why people always called him such a good recruiter when all he was doing is dropping a bag.His teams always had a hole in it, last year was guard dominated no bigs, so this year he admitted he panicked and brought in too many bigs(most which had no impact at all).this year no shooters and only 2 players on entire team that could put the ball on the floor and make a move.A good recruiter recruits the personnel needed for his squad and his system.

Agreed

WW was similar to Dale in that they needed uber-talented guys to be "good"

Never have been enamored with his ability to run a decent offense scheme.

Turnovers and free throws lost the game.

I've never seen a team who values the ball less.

This is all fair, and why I think he would have lost yesterday.

What a dumb take. LSU doesn't have 20 plus turnovers and leave people wide open at 3 all night if Wade is there coaching/riding them.

It’s almost like this board can have more than one opinion. Not everyone thinks he was an awful in game coach and I have to think having Wade we handle last night fairly easily

Wade would rip into players playing lazy or not aggressively. The dude last night looked dead on the inside

Ok hotshot. I'll give you that. But lets not pretend this team wasnt marginally talented.....suffered a devastating preseason injury (which is 20% of your starting linup in basketball). He made a pretty good gumbo this year with the ingredients he had

What? They have been leaving guys open all season long, and have mishandled the ball all season long.

Yet, these same "fans" now want us to believe he would have figured out a way to win yesterday, a way to score more points (when our offense has been meh all season long)?

None of this makes any sense.

Correct. LSU played poorly the last three weeks of the season. It is what it is.

He was a good recruiter but not a good X and Os kinda guy. He also wasn't very smart looking at how he left a paper trail so easily. We made the right decision getting rid of him even if the program plummets into irrelevant again.

He wasn't the greatest X's and O's coach, true, but he also was not a complete disaster in that area like Nickelberry.

Do you think they had different playbooks?

This game was similar to a couple games from the 12-0 start. Liberty, Ga Tech, La Tech, and penn state come to mind. Games where we started slow and sloppy and had to grind our way back in. Wade is a better “bench coach” than he gets credited for on this board. He’s got to improve tactically but in games like that a well timed timeout, substitution or changing the press can help spark some good things. Don’t think KN really did anything to hurt the team but it felt like a mechanical type of approach all night outside of that first half where we played too many guys. Fudge and justice probably shouldn’t have been out there in the first half. I know there was foul trouble but note how our rotation had shrunk to around 8 by the end of sec play under wade

His teams have never been strong fundamentally or played with a high basketball IQ. He is terrible with development…who really improved from November til the last game?

The funniest thing about the “wade can do no wrong and is the best coach to ever be at LSU” crowd is they tell everyone who criticizes Wade they don’t know basketball. One of those idiots defended his teams bad passing by saying good passing doesn’t cause mismatches, basically saying ball movement on offense is bad, last night we were schooled by a good passing team that led to wide open shots…something we rarely get

This. Wade and this team had their flaws, but to argue Wade wouldn't have made a difference last night or that the team played the same way all year is willfully ignorant.

Wade assembled teams in back to back years that were top offensive and defensive teams respectively, but now he sucks as a coach?

This board.

He got caught and was fired, but stop making up nonsense to justify it.

If Wade is such a great coach why didn’t anyone try to steal him from us?

Wade’s lack of recruiting 1-2 shooters was the downfall of this team.

Because he was caught on an FBI wiretap in his second year as the coach at LSU. Are you fricking stupid?
