Define "blitz" how you're using it

They sent 5+ or are you counting their 4th guy ?

Based on the effectiveness of our screens, this was likely the correct decision.

You think any of the offensive lineman are athletic enough to run a screen?

They needed to do something to neutralize the blitz. I was yelling the whole game for screens

No, our QB missed a wide open Palmer who had nobody between him and the goal line...

I’ve never seen a team get away with blitzing almost every play most of the game. I’ve also never seen a quarterback be hit as much as Johnson was last night. I have little faith in the offensive plan going fwd.

You don’t have to run screens to neutralize the blitz. You can also neutralize the blitz by throwing into the space vacated by the blitzer(s). This is what we did well in 2019, and why burrow was so good against the blitz.

You use screens to punish aggression, and loss of containment. The exotic blitzes were picking up the screens and our offense was making bad decisions when we ran them.

We were struggling against the blitz because Max was afraid to step up in the pocket, and we couldn’t execute on throws to wide open receivers.

Because Johnson eye fricked Boutte the entire time pre snap on that play. I rewatched late last night and he was telegraphing where he was going on almost every pass play.

You are correct.

But I wasn't replying to you. I was trying to help SFP understand what the proper term was for "bringing the house".
