Hasty after his last three showings, Pulling Hilliard so quickly, and starting Bianco lost this game.

Bianco batting with the bases loaded and 2 out has to be the biggest blunder. He’s 0 for the century

Agree with fiddy. You pinch hit for Joubert but not for Bianco.

Worse decision was either the steal or putting Hasty in.

What was said about that steal? Was that supposed to be a bunt and run?

I don’t know why he took Fontenot out after what 6 pitches? They hadn’t seen him in the previous games and dude was nails on Friday. Also, would have kept Hilliard in unless they had him on a pitch count or something. Bianco absolutely killed us at the plate. I was fine w starting him but he shouldn’t have batted in high leverage situations.

Yeah you’re so smart I forgot. Dude you think you know all this shite with your “why play for the double play” because you heard a shitty announced talk about it. I heard it to. Were you just gonna steal his ideas or thoughts when it didn’t matter anyway?
He gave why you do it and it was a gamble. Bottom line is on the first two hitters he gave up 0-2 grooves to a guy that was 7/11 or whatever for the tournament and best hitter not named Crews and another guy that was on everything and everyone today.

The pen failed and nothing else can be discussed about moves.

What? How does one grade them then

Sports, especially baseball, is a game of probability. You can make the best coaching decision based on the available evidence and things still don’t work out. Unlike fans with hindsight, coaches have to make the decision BEFORE the outcome is known.

It is similar to Bill Self telling his kids at Kansas, “every good shot doesn’t go in”. If a player does everything right and misses the shot, it’s still a better shot than some kid shooting a hook shot from half court that actually goes in. If you judge those players by their results you would say the kid that shot from half court made a better decision; but that would obviously be wrong.

Hasty coming in to start the 7th inning

Given how non competitive his last two outings were I don’t see how JJ had confidence in him. This is and the steal were the only two moves I had issue with.

I was only disappointed that the steal attempt was on the 1st pitch

So Miss actually called a pitch out. Catcher shifted out before the pitcher released the ball

With walks being so prevalent from the worked pitching staffs of both teams, the only time they would call for that would be first pitch.

It was the second pitch. First pitch Pearson got a strike on a bunt attempt, second pitch was a pitch out and Pearson pulled the bat back .

I mean. Why are we paying him all this money to coach?

How are you not in the dugout as lsu head coach?

Worst to me was Kelly calling center cut pitches 0-2 in the T9

I feel like Hilliard could've pushed it two or three more innings. I have no idea why Johnson pulled him so quickly. He made great decisions with the staff during the season, but that was just a horrible call. If Hilliard does go another two, you may never see Hasty in the game. You bring in Gervase in the 6th, and he hopefully gets you to the 8th and then you bring in Reyzelman and let him finish it up.

Agreed on Hilliard. That was a bad luck hit right at Thompson. Should have trusted your only ace.

Probably a bit of hubris, playing for the double play instead of stopping the leading run. I agree, very ballsy. He must have for sure thought they would score in the bottom of the 9th
