If tweet fails to load, click here. TLDR; 10-2, Losses to Ole Miss & Texas

I really don't like Brian Kelly and don't really want to hear his opinion on games...
BUT, if he's going to talk about LSU that completely changes. A simple question to ask Kelly that would get a true response and give true insight into LSU situation would be:
"Coach, that LSU team last year seemed to have a couple of huge shortcomings that couldn't be overcome. What has LSU done to overcome those weaknesses that bring you to that 10-2 expectation?"
Obviously, he'd talk about QB play and the injury to Nussmeier. But, then he'd have to talk about the OL. And, he might even delve into the offensive coordinator.
If Kelly wants to get into those things, I'll listen for days on end. If he's just predicting games, it's meaningless.

Such a relief this guy doesn't coach here anymore... I'm pissed at myself for trying to like this leprechaun

We will see. If he predicts a more realistic 8-4 everyone would be all pissed. Best case scenario 9-3.

I wish I could be as detached as the majority of people who inhabit that coach to broadcaster pipeline.
I have no idea with him what is an act and what isn't. Is it all an act? Is he a completely different person in front of his wife and kids and nobody else gets to see it?
In some ways I respect it. It's 100% business and the opinions of others don't seem to get to him in the way that makes him question his self-worth. You seem it eat some coaches alive, but then there's guys like him. He truly does not give a shite.

I didn't like the fit and wanted a younger coach as well, but I was willing to buy in on Kelly as well. His lack of proper staff and roster management cost LSU and Jayden what should have been a NC season.

The better question would of been coach did you realize when your in the SEC you actually have to treat it as a year round full time job not a 4 hr a day 3-4x a week part time gig…. Then see if you get angry Brian or easy buyout money Brian….what a FRAUD

BK barely knew the roster when he coached here, doubt he’s too familiar with it now

He needs to learn how to hold a microphone correctly

10-2 gets us into the playoff, but goddamn I really really don't want to lose to Ole Miss.

Completely reasonable take and expectation.

Former and failed LSU football coach Grindin' Brian Kelly has zero insight into this LSU program.

His lack of proper staff
Always a weird response to me. So many people want to blame the staff, instead of the players. Every single person who was seen as a "problem" on the coaching staff has found success elsewhere.
Matt House gets a bad wrap around here because of his last year, but dude put together a top 30 defense with literal scraps. All of the fans forgot that. Why did his defense suck so bad his last year then? Player quality. It was god awful, and House was working with what he had. Dont believe me? Go rewatch some of those games and watch DBs lost on simple cover 2 concepts. NONE of the secondary players have had ANY SUCCESS at the next level.
And as far as Joe Sloan goes, this board likes to roast him, but once again will forget about the 2024 season and the top 25 offensive ranking. Do yall think he just forgot about those plays? Or maybe he was limited to what his QB was capable of doing? If your 5th year QB refuses to throw to the middle, or is slow at reading a defense, it makes sense to throw screens which are a single read to the outside.
