Would you have started Jamarcus Russell or Matt Flynn?

This will be the best QB competition we have had in a long time. Add in a potential grad transfer to the mix and we could really have a battle between Spring and the start of the season.
Can we not just let the process play out and get behind the guy who wins?

quote:. Perrilloux had a higher ceiling than Flynn. It’s not about the one who knows the offense is the best leader and handles pressure. I am not saying either one is better than the other nor do I care I just want LSU to win. Just saying you don’t pick your qb based upon his ceiling that is stupid.
higher ceiling than brennan. jmo.

I want him to have an equal shot, but he’s got to get the playbook down by Spring. It’s been a rough go to date.

Jamis is not fleet of foot. Dude wake up he could be one of the best running backs in the sec.

What about him points to that?

I'm riding with Miles. Dudes what I've been waiting for in a QB. He's everything that Ive been jealous of when watching other schools sling it around the field. I'm sick of watching our failed attempts at signing the next Vince Young. Let's get a guy back there with some knowledge and nerve who can lead an offense. It's not a knock of LN... if he has those traits then so be it but Im very confident that MB does.

a great passer who is mobile is plenty. most of the good runners are not good passers. they may be OK, but can't throw over the middle.
i'll be fine with the competition and how it comes out. I don't need to root for one or the other.

Could not agree more. Just look at the final 4 playoff teams. They all have 1 thing in common. A QB that can make plays with his feet when in a bind!!!! Agree with this

If you have two QBs you don’t have a QB. I’ve only seen the two QB system work once in my lifetime. Steve Ensminger & David Woodley when Charlie Mac was the HBC.

I would personally prefer a QB that can complete 65% of their passes.

3,982 yards with 48 touchdowns and only three interceptions as senior
That's mind boggling
To exceed those 48 touchdowns, you have to sum up all of the games from now back to the New Mexico State game in 2014 where Harris relieved Jennings and was proclaimed the savior of LSU.
It only took us 8 times as many interceptions too..
So.. 45 games. 50 touchdowns. 24 interceptions.

Brandon Harris, Anthony Jennings and Jordan Jefferson all were both pocket passers, and motile.

If you can measure the trait, it's tangible.
One would have to go to school in order to differentiate between the two.

quote:Harris never looked comfortable in a pocket. He would drop too far back that there would be hardly a pocket to step up into. Jefferson was maybe OK in the pocket by late in his Junior year. While he was mobile, he had horrible instincts as a runner and in the pocket.
