Can't be questioning JJ's analytical strategy! The man never goes with his gut... guess he doesn't have gut moves.

None of the catchers have looked comfortable catching Ware. I’m sure he feels that too

Yeah, I have no idea what happened on that first pitch to Hernandez that he missed.

A) he went from a no no to TX touching him up. Even some loud outs

B) his velo was dropping

C) he started half his innings by walking the leadoff guy

Now that Jay's leash of Ware and Schmidt is almost non existent maybe he'll let Eyanson go a little deeper

It’s hard to win a series on the road in the SEC. Glad we get a chance tomorrow.

Connor ware was one of the most talked about names on the team from Jay coming in. His short leash is kinda crazy.

He has been pretty spotty in his appearances so far. And it’s possible that Jay wanted to keep him available for tomorrow.

I thought it was weird bringing Ware in seemingly as a LOOGY.

The reason it seems strange is that fans think of every game as the CWS finals; coaches - good coaches, that is - think of them as practice. As the end of the season approaches, the coach will start to use his players in the ways that are more advantageous.

Last night was a good learning experience for the pitchers who failed. It will make them better and more focused. And when LSU is in a Super Regional game three nobody is going to care who won game 2 on March 22.

It seems like sense schmidts last midweek appearance, jay decided schmidt is going to be a leverage long relief guy and has him penciled into that role. Problem is he hasnt shown that he is ready for that. Wish he would use his eyes a bit more than going with the pregame plan

And yes, its frustating that eyanson got pulled when he was seemingly pitching well and still getting whiffs. Even though his whole arsenal wasnt being used

Eyanson has some great stuff but it seems like Jay doesn’t trust him enough at this point. Hopefully that changes after last night because I think he was working out of that inning when Jay pulled him.

The other big issue imo is Yeskie and his damn pitch calls. He seems to have no feel for calling pitches and screwed several guys. Primeaux came in and threw about 8 FB’s in a row. His FB looked good last night but who TF calls 8 93 mph FB’s in a row against a team like Texas.

For now. Someone will emerge, especially out of the young guys

I don't know if Eyanson will be a starter at the end of the season. I know everyone says Cowan is valuable in the pen, but he may be a starter. Him pitching on saturdays after Kade is a deadly combo.

That was one of the most frustrating parts about tonight's game. Not sure why they pulled him so early. He had a short leash, but then they left Schmidt out there to get rocked. A little bizarre, imo.

Jay lacks when it comes to pitcher management, kinda like Maineri. And Yeskie is not impressive.

Let’s back up.

Is Eyanson a starter? He tires quickly and the loss of movement is a big problem 50, 60 pitches in.
