The corrupt, arrogant dumbass NCAA scumbags ruined college sports way back to be honest.

Schools have been paying and cheating forever with the NCAA allowing it for the Bama’s and Duke’s and murdering any other schools.

I like the legal paying now, they already were paying. So just work out the details, cut the NCAA, SEC and other conferences out. What’s the role of the SEC and NCAA at this point? There is none other than to arbitrarily enforce rules just like the NCAA used to do. Make those jackasses have to get real jobs.

We will be that team with 3 or 4 losses that takes somebody out. The SEC is too brutal esp adding that 9 th game so all sec teams with the exception of one or two will have at least 3 losses.

Yeah if it wasn’t for fantasy I wouldn’t pay attention to the NFL at all.

College doesn’t have that draw, and I think the NCAA is completely blind to the reality that if they continue to change the heart of their product, they won’t have fantasy to save them when people lose interest.

The sport is way over its skis and lets everything be dictated by TV contract money and now private equity.

Great point. This is exactly why you're seeing late August/Early September games kicked off at 11AM. Everything takes a backseat to TV money, including player safety

Sadly almost every great American tradition has been sold out due to pure greed. The world we are headed towards is unrecognizable.

I’ve already found myself being way less interested than I used to be due to nil and the transfer crap. I don’t even recognize the sport anymore.

I hate it but It’s just a game at the end of the day.

That’s what’s going to need to happen unfortunately for any changes to be made,

Playoffs are the only good thing happening to CFB right now. FIX the other bullshite like NIL, transfers, and consistency on eligibility rules

Think about all the money in TAF donations so you can get better seats at home games and priority to away games. This will go away when those regular season games mean so much less. And every school has some form of a TAF. Killing the golden goose.

I recognize my symptoms of college football fatigue from my withdrawal from pro football. I’m in the middle stages in which I am still watching, still entertained if they win, but not really disappointed when they lose.

When I was at that point with the NFL it was about three years later that I stopped watching completely and focused on college. I’ve been to two high school games this year, and I think I am going to ramp that up, because I probably won’t be following college ball in a few years.

don't know why the OP got so many downvotes - he's completely correct.

College football is an absolute mess and it's getting worse. My emotional attachment to the game is virtually zero. I watch the games, but I feel nothing.

And it continues to barrel down the wrong path with full speed.

Very, very sad.

I’ll watch LSU. But after the LSU game I’ll be switching over to watch golf. I’m not going to watch a bunch of meaningless qualifying games. Tony Petiti & the Little 10 need the playoffs to manufacture meaning for them. It always just meant less.

Why is someone a snowflake because they want CFB to be a better sport?

What made it the greatest sport on earth has been disassembled. What it is to become is TBD.

Meh...

Are still going to play football?

If so, then I'm still in.

I get this is Tiger Rant and not SEC Rant, but I think a lot of us collectively as CFB fans have started to grow weary of mercenary football.

Remember when CFB’s self-proclaimed distinguishing characteristics were “tradition” and “the pageantry”?

It’s incredible the body count of great things that have been enshittified over just a few decades.

I also miss blockbuster, social media not existing, smartphones not existing, AI not existing, better music, and playing pickup games outside with the bicycle gang.

I guess doordash is cool, but I’d trade it in a heartbeat to get the 90s back.
