Did a search for the Courtyard on Acadian (the SEC and espn hotel). It is blocked for every weekend the entire season. Who know!

Season Ticket holders have a required Tradition Fund donation. This is not the same as TAF. I have very good lower bowl season tickets that are not controlled by TAF. Any TAF donations I make have nothing to do with my tickets. There are many legacy seat holders that this applies to.

As a season ticket holder you do not automatically donate to TAF. You are required to make a “Tradition Fund” donation per season seat. This is not TAF. Tradition fund goes directly to the Athletic Department. TAF is a separate and private fund raising group.
"If school A says you can’t play anywhere else ever while school B says you just have to stay through the end of the season, school A better be offering a lot more money or have a lot more upside in some other way. But since all schools are subject to the cap, it’s not like you can just buy exclusivity for your entire roster unless every other school is doing it. And if every school does it, they’re probably just going to get hit with another antitrust lawsuit."
If a group of schools (let's say 60 schools) agreed to use the same contract for its players, that would leave 205 other schools as a playing alternative for any player not wanting to sign the contract. Is that 60 member collective still subject to antitrust?

The NCAA has no ability to legally enforce any rule that limits a person to make money or move. The law is clear. You can have such limits in a binding contract signed by the individual, though.

"Sounds like a great way to run off every high profile recruit"
The University must offer value. A combination of money, development exposure, etc. If a recruit is not interested because he wants to move over and over, then so be it. I would not want him on my team at that point. anyway.
We have to start somewhere to turn this mess around. Kids with no sense of loyalty, over blown ideas of their ability, and greed can't keep running the show.

Revenue sharing may or may not require a contract agreement. NIL would. A multi-year NIL, binding to both parties, using revenue sharing and other money sources could greatly impact the ability for a player to move every year. He is under a signed contract.
Again, much like a musician to a record label. You sign a five year agreement with Sony. You are not able to go record with Warner three years down the road. You must finish the five years or get a release from your current contract. That will likely not happen without a buyout.

"Sign a NIL deal with the University?"
No. They are under contract. Garth Brooks is not an employee of Sony.

Sign a NIL deal with the University?

Why can’t a college/university require a scholarship athlete to sign a NIL agreement with the school? You will play a sport, promote the school with your NIL, promote university affiliated businesses, get compensation, all under a binding contract, including the inability to play for or promote any other school. Very similar to musicians who sign contracts with record labels.
re: How would you set up the NIL structure?

Any person can get paid from anyone for the use of their name, image, or likeness. Nothing anyone can legally do to stop it. I would institute very strict recruiting rules in college sports. Any appearance of using NIL to recruit a high school player or a current player from another school would carry a heavy penalty. Any involvement from anyone associated with the university in setting up a NIL deal is a strict violation. I know it would be hard to police but, not impossible.
You are 100% correct t. What are we doing? I don’t mean just LSU, I mean all of higher education. $25 million for football players is not in the best interest of any university or college. Same for $10 + million coaching contracts. Where are the “adults”? We have taken student recreation and fan entertainment, and monetized it to lunacy. I, for one, am less interested than ever. And I am an alum, parent of alums, son of alums, sibling of anlums and season ticket holder for 44 years.

My first game in TS was 1971, first as a student 1976, graduated 1981, season ticket ever sense. Before all of the TV it was much more special. If you wanted to see the Tigers, you had to be in the stadium. It was a privilege and you knew you had to do your part by staying and yelling. The place stills give me goosebumps when I walk in but that's from remembering the past, not what it is today. Back then, every minute you could in that stadium was treasured.
1979 s USC is the single best of all time. The crowd was a huge part of the game, not just spectators. As a student during those years it was the best. Start the day at the house, walk to the game with your date, stay the whole game, back to the house for a live band party. You never thought about missing any of that to go to a bar. During the game the best party in town was in the stadium. Your dates purse was the bar.
Do you operate your own life like this? “I am not good enough at what I do to be considered elite, so you should go to someone else.” I have no idea what you do. But, I sure hope you care enough, have passion enough, and have a sense of pride enough to try and do it well enough to try and be elite at it.
Correct. Your better institutions of higher learning are supposed to be “elite”. It’s a goal you hope to achieve.
They were thinking the same as all of us. Kelly is not working and we need to make a change. Since they were there with their support when the contract was written, they were willing to foot the bill, as they promised they would. Every billionaire has made similar bad deals and know how to move on. Lick your wounds, pay the money, and learn for the next one. All of this was with SW at the helm. Now that Landry has entered, they are not likely to be so supportive. It's not that they thought SW was such a great AD, it is that he is part of their circle. You can call it "Baton Rouge Elite", or what ever you want. There was giant money connections and support for LSU. What's Landry got?
"They see Landry’s reforms as a threat because they undo a decade of control, privilege, and carefully managed narratives — a system that served insiders well but left the average fan and taxpayer behind. But for the vast majority of Louisianans, the meaning is simple: their flagship is finally starting to look like their state again."
Your flagship should not look like your state. It should look far better. It should be the place where your best and brightest attend, graduate and become leaders. Hopefully you are good enough to attract some of the best and brightest from other states and countries as well. It should be a place you aspire to, not that resembles you. If you graduate from LSU you should be different than when you went in. The "average fan" and the "taxpayer" can hopefully do the work to become a part of the LSU standard. If not, they can still enjoy what comes from such an esteemed institution, both from academic achievement, research and discovery, and athletic entertainment.

So, is this the Louisiana that they want LSU to look more like? LSU is/was better than this. Now, Landry wants to bring LSU back.

There is now another Landry placed piece:

Making LSU look more like the rest of Louisiana is not a good thing. LSU was making strides the last ten years up the elite ladder. Landry is bringing it back down fast.

That was a Scott Woodward connection. The idiot governor screwed it up. There are significant supporters of LSU that think the state is an embarrassment but want to see LSU excel above it all. They know how elite universities work and want to help LSU rise. They will not give to the shite show that is Landry and his circus.
re: Woodward likely had the financial support to fire BK.

There are donors and there are those that say " get all you can from your donors, I am there when you need me to make up the rest." They said it when Kelly was hired, they said it when Kelly was fired. They do not need to worry about their donor status or TAF points. Billionaires play at a different level. SW had this level of connections, with the help of others. Don't know if they stay in support of LSU now.
