Sankey has said LSU is getting kicked out and they’ve taken legal steps to block LSU from being able to stop it.

It's just a dumb move on the SEC's part.

LSU can survive without the SEC. The SEC needs LSU more than LSU needs them.

There has to be more to the story than is being reported. Because, what’s being reported broke no rules. Something fishy is going on behind the scenes.

That would be a very emotional decision. Hard to believe that’s going to happen

No, the backlash will be years of litigation, millions in legal fees and no outcome for 5+ years.

This is really, really bad for all LSU sports.

Is it equitable? Hell no, but Sankey knows he’ll be long gone by the time the suits are concluded.

It’s a stress test by the sec to see if self governing can be done. We are a guinea pig.

I respectfully disagree. That may be the by-product, but this is about LSU…Kiffin, Wade, Landry, etc…

I don't think it's far and away an imbalance, but LSU's football program is different than any other in the nation.

Nowhere other than maybe at Ohio State do you have what LSU football has.

Winning culture
No real in state competitors
Elite local talent
Statewide fan support
Wealthy donors
State of the art facilities
100k+ stadium

Some programs have most. Some have one or two. Where has all of those aside from LSU? I think it is legit just Ohio State, and even then they have to compete with Cincinnati.

None of that goes away with the SEC.

LSU can survive on its own the same way that ND survives. Will it be harder? Yes. But they can do it.

And even In the unlikely event they do vote us out this week on pure rushed emotion and pettiness, we’ll be right back in within 2 years once the dust settles, everyone calms down, Sankey is ousted and Saban or someone Saban backs takes over and cooler heads prevail.

They are kicking LSU out for allegedly colluding with players to sue the conference.

That’ll be impossible to argue since the players sued the NCAA and won. So the SEC responded by releasing its new policy and not until then did the players add the SEC to the suit.

It’ll also be difficult to argue Kiffin organized a lawsuit of 30+ athletes with only 2 that had intentions of joining Kiffin’s team and 1 with intentions of going to another SEC school. Much less the 300+ other athletes in suits across multiple states.

But at the end of the day, none of that matters. If 11 vote to expel, then that is their choice.

highly doubt Sankey would make this move without a consensus among his members. He already has the votes and Liz stated today that LSU has no designs on stopping the Thursday vote

I'm not saying that he doesn't have that in place. I'm saying it's completely contingent on the judge granting the TRO for LSU to litigate in response. I do not believe that will be granted fully which leaves the door for LSU to litigate if they do move to expel.

It's also going to be pretty difficult for them to disconnect from this being punishment for the state ruling, especially since they cited it in their filing.

Again what rule did anyone at LSU break to warrant suspensions, firings etc? What lawsuit did LSU, Kiffin etc file against the SEC, NCAA to cause them any legal fees to be paid back by LSU? Other than a hack journalist with an axe to grind against LSU who said “ anonymous” sources told him Kiffin started this whole thing even when one of the players involved said LSU wasn’t the first SEC team to contact him. I fail to see how if they go through with this that LSU wouldn’t have a major lawsuit against the SEC, its other teams, and Sankey. Am I just think logically.

I think they are looking at the circumstantial evidence…suit was filed in Louisiana by non-LSU 2022 players…that happened to play for Kiffin last year.

NOTE: I’ve been wrong before and claim no insider knowledge. I base my opinion tonight on three things:

- Sankey’s own words and setting vote day after TRO hearing date
- today’s amended pleading
- LSU has no concession to make because it hasn’t done anything (LSU cannot offer anything to make it go away).

There’s a good chance the judge might toss the SEC’s bullshite 1st Amendment violation case altogether. Sankey is out on a limb with this one and is risking major lawsuit exposure for the league with his actions. He needs a vote of no confidence.
