Saw Herb Alpert this summer in Dallas at one of his tour stops. Easily 10k people in the packed hall. He played and sounded as good as ever. He didn’t do it for the money. Nine Grammy awards, 75 million in record sales. So why at 92 did the trumpet player worth 850 million come out of retirement and go on tour? Because he loves to play for people who want to hear his music. Heard it from his own mouth.

So quit projecting your goals, values, and motivations on a 74 year old man who is still in good health. I’m not saying he is coming but it wouldn’t surprise me.

90+% of this board voted for a President that is 79. Saban just turned 74 a few days ago and use his age as an issue. The hypocrisy and low thought level is fairly entertaining, but also very depressing. The same posters are in every thread saying 0% chance, not going to happen, etc. as if they would be upset if it happened.

Posting absolutes that they have no control over, it's a sign of something...

I never got the sense that he loved Bama that much. Their fans and boosters aren’t like ours.

Are they even more spoiled?

I don't know if Philly is legit or not, but lean towards him just playing the rest of us.

I’ll show you how easy it is to be a fake insider: “11-10 Update. Guys we had him… we really did have him. The talks went all the way down to the 11th hour and he was ready to come. We had the financials worked out, 4 year 22 million a year. At the very end Miss Terry convinced him that ‘hey look it’s just not not time for us to do this again you’re enjoying ESPN too much. You’re enjoying being home too much. Let’s let some of these younger coaches have the opportunity’ and then Nick gave us his blessing to find his find a replacement. Now look for Lane and possibly others….”

Is this the person from Alabama that apparently Nick Saban has closed ties to and wants this individual in place?

In other words is this a signal of what is about to come?
