Coach Robinson a legend bordering on a deity in SoCal. He was Nick Saban before Saban. If CEO has Coach Robinson join him during in home visits in SoCal, that will close the deal for a lot of families.

If LSU wants to recruit a elite QBs, this is where they are grown.

Smart move by CEO

Might as well just add OJ to the staff if we wanna recruit SoCal.

He’s got that killer instinct.

Do current recruits even know who he is?

They'll have an idea who Coach Robinson is and the clout he has once they see his signed photos from the entire cast of M.A.S.H. (aside from Harry Morgan).

Probably much more about perception and being a discussion point than recruiting. He was a decade behind the game 15 years ago.

Careful. Asking questions about his role will be interpreted as “bashing” or “bitching”. Someone will be here soon to tell you how miserable you are.

This is a reach.
Folks who remember Robinson coaching are in their late 60's or older.

There's a big state real close by that produces quite a few QBs too.

This has zero to do with recruiting. John Robinson is 83 years old and has't coached in 15 years. It's been over 20 years since he last coached in LA. Or in other words, none of the kids being recruited today were even born when John Robinson was household name.

He was hired to serve as a mentor/adviser for Orgeron, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. The guy has been around the game for a LONG time. Hell, I applaud O for being humble enough to realize the advice of older coaches can still be very valuable vs. thinking he knows everything there is to know about running a big time college program.

Yeah, op isnt very well versed in this topic.

There not allowed to recruit in home and they can't coach players or be on the sidelines or the press box even, during the game. if I'm not mistaken on that part.

Kevin Faulk was able to recruit when kids were on our campus. He was part of getting Emery and Davis-Price.
