With all due respect to Jamie, who I have always liked.

Walker coming to LSU effectively ended any possibility of us getting Manning or Holstein. Then he ends up going to a rival with inside knowledge of our system etc. I get it, really all these QBs are me me me right now, they want 15 million dollars, guaranteed playing time, yada, Tara, yada. But there is no way around the fact that this whole situation really sucks. From not wanting to play in our bowl game when he didn’t have anyone else to this crap.

I might understand this better if he wasn’t going right back into a situation on the bench or it wasn’t for a bitter rival. But really WTF?

Not mad but really very disappointed

There is no problem; he now plays with Ole Miss.

We were never getting Manning.

Who cares. It’s the portal 2023 bro. He plays for Ole Miss. Let’s just beat Ole Miss.

But he will be 2nd team at Ole MIss and would have been 3rd team at LSU in 2023. He wwould have been on the bench 3 years at LSU ( JD in 2023, Nuss 2024-25, then Walker 2026) vs most likely 1 year at Ole Miss (Dart in 2023, maybe 24 also, and Walker probably 2024, but for sure 2025-26).

And he would say the problem is after Kelly signed him and showed him a favorable depth chart and explained how he would fit into it. Kelly proceeded to bring in an upperclassman who disrupted the entire depth chart.

It’s called bait and switch.

I’m not debating whether or not Daniels should have been brought in, simply the effect it had on the depth chart.

There’s also an outside chance that Nuss blows up next year and goes pro. He’s draft eligible being a redshirt Sophomore.

Yep, all that knowledge of the scout team plays, no way we score a point against Ole Miss this coming year.

I can’t begin to tell you how fricking retarded this take is.

what's the odds on that? Better odds that Dart blows up next year and goes pro or Dart doesn't blow up but still goes pro (as it will be his 2nd year as a starter). JD is returning to be the starter next year. Right now Nuss has zero years as a starter. Now it is possible that Nuss beats JD out and goes pro after one year as a starter but both those are long shots. Walker has a much better chance of becoming a starter much sooner at Ole Miss than at LSU.

Then I don’t think you understand simple logic.

If you are a star qb, not a fan, but a qb looking to get developed and playing time to build up quality film for NFL scouts and you are recruited by a school, the first question you will ask the coach is what does the depth chart look like and how do I fit into it. The coach explains this to you and your family so you understand what your progression looks like through your career on the depth chart.

I don't see how any coach can promise a recruit that he won't take a transfer QB these days. A coach can show a recruit how the depth chart stands right now, but wouldn't be worth his salt as a coach if he promised a kid that he wouldn't take a transfer at his position.

I don't know who the backup QB at Ole Miss is right now, but I am sure he is not too happy about Howard transfering in, but it is the nature of the game these days.

He wasn’t expecting Jayden to stay another year and didn’t think Nuss would be as good as he is. Who cares. We have really good QB’s on our roster for the foreseeable future and have really good ones coming in. I don’t care about any other SEC backup quarterback and that isn’t going to change now.

I don’t blame him, but I don’t blame people for bitching either.

I know it happens to everyone, but these divisional transfers suck.

I do like the transfer matchups are always chippy (I’d be lying if said I didn’t enjoy the resolution of the Eli Ricks saga as much as anything this year).

Idk what goes on behind the scenes, but if we’re talking about competing for a natty I take Kelly at LSU over Kiffin at Ole Miss + that was a pretty easy choice for me lol.

Everyone executes on the field, someone is open every play. That’s how they are designed. If they are being called against the right looks.

I wouldn’t worry about that.

Walker leaving also opens up the possibility of LSU landing a top Transfer QB.

I’m not sure you understand simple logic. His family requested he redshirt in 2022 regardless of who we had in the stable. You people seem to forget about Brennan being a part of the equation, so there’s no guarantee that Nuss would’ve been the starter without Daniels.

Howard left because of Nuss, not because of Daniels. Dart is better than Howard. Hope he gets used to riding the pine

Oh it’s not very good odds, but still a possibility which would be a kick in the teeth to Howard. And LSU for their QB room in 24.
