re: The mound looked solid last night against McNeese

looked solid?? I must have been watching another game. 8 innings and LSU pitchers couldn't keep McNeese hitters off the basepaths in a single one of them, choked a 3-0 lead and were on the verge of giving the game away most innings. Against significantly lower competition. Thats where our bullpen is at level wise

I also liked what I saw from Herring, Guidry, and Hurd.
Don’t forget about Dutton. He was solid.

So if the pitchers do poorly, they suck because it was McNeese.
If the pitchers do well, it's because they played McNeese.

Last I checked our biggest issue has been throwing strikes and the strike zone vs McNeese is the same dimensions as the strike zone vs Vandy.

The hard grounder off the third baseman's glove that shot up in the air was ruled E5

The decision to give Milazzo a hit on a clear error and then a couple batters later give Crews an RBOE on a play where he beat the throw anyway was peak Lazarre. He's a fricking clown and absolutely sucks at being the official scorekeeper.

Our main problem is that if we had a guy who could give us 4 solid innings he’d probably be our Sunday starter.
Herring needs to return to form.
Guidry needs to return to form.
Coleman is looking good.
I need to see our regional, but we mostly hope to get a SWAC team game one and then make the rest of the tournament best 2/3. unfortunately this team seems built to win 2/3 which may get us to Omaha but idk if we can do an 8 team double elimination bracket.

None of these guys have consistently put back to back outings together. When you say return to form what do you mean? While each had looked good at times they have also looked bad about as often as they’ve looked good.

I have zero faith in Hurd, Little and honestly, anyone not named Skenes. This team will struggle in games 2 and 3 of tourney play.

Crews last AB was ruled a hit and a throwing error to advance the runners.

Ah. Either the booth only saw the error part or it was changed later.
ETA: I still think Lazarre is an absolute clown.

I only know because it kept his on base streak alive.

That’s not true herring threw combined 7 vs Ark, Tennessee and SCar with 1 ER over 3 weekends.
Guidry looked good Vs Tennessee and South Carolina with 1.2 of scoreless bare ball against Nichols in between.
He also looked good against Auburn in a couple appearances.
Herring and Guidry have had mostly strong outings. The issue being they’ve had some blow ups recently.
Coleman has looked strong in spots even in his bad outings. It’s mostly going deeper in games that’s been an issue. I think He should have finished against MSU.

Did the pitchers hit their spots and throw strikes?

Yep, and he called the same type of shooter off of White's glove an error. They were both infield hits.
So, dude took away a hit from Crews he deserved, stuck Tanks with an error he didn't, and then blew the Milazzo call. Not a good night behind the scorebook.
