There are some of us who are more blessed with ability than others. You can bet he will get grilled and researched
Not this Mr Swanson, I have had my days of glory and wouldnt trade them for anything.
Myfather played in the first game in tiger stqdium, 1921 i think. Hew also coached the lsu baseball and basketball team and won the sec in 1940 in baseball. He had couple of big leagueplayers when he coached. He was the superintenden of LTI, then named southsde high and Joe Labruzzo and Cantrell both plsyed for southside. He did not coachthere, but the facility now is called Swanson correctional institute.
Nope. Never ben chosen to do so. Hell, I cant even buy lsu season basebALL tickets But I don't feel bad about it. I was there in the majors at a VEREY YOUNG AGE, AND ENJOYED EVERY Day I got yo coach the pitchers from 1964 through 1972
I was not inOmaha, as my age keeps me from travelling. But I was there in spirit
I did play with those great guys. It was n honor to be in the big legues at 18 years old. Also on that there were virdon groat dale long bob friend elroy face,
To be able to playn AGAINST SOME OF the greats was a blessing.
Yep that would be me. ENJOYED MY TIME IN THE BIGS, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS CUT SHORT BY A BAD ARM
Well, since I played for the Pirates in the mid 50s I am one more dyed in the wool Pirate fan and ex player
why do some of you do some research, then you will find joe bill adcock played at lsu and then in the big leagues for over 15 years. do you really think that lsu baseball juststarted in1984. get serious
Joe Adcock without a doubt. Played four years at lsu and over 15 in the big leagues

lsu baseball assistants

Just exactly how many assistants does our head coach have?
Seems like I counted seven on the bench. Does it really take that many, especially so many just taking notes. Baseball is a simple game. You run hit and throw and caTch.
Does it take a conference on every pitch?
There is an old saying that goes "even a blind hog will find an acorn if given enough time"
How about this. Long beore Skip , Jim Smith had a chicken wire fence built on the stadium roof. It was there to catch foul balls the went over the top of the stands. He would reward the kids a quarter for each ball they returned. This was in the late 1960s and 70s.

re: Ted Williams approach .

HAVING pitched to ted williams I wonder how you reseached this this stupid untrue statement. Ted Williams never had to guess or think about the ball, he just hit it..\
You shous stick to something you know about.
Little has no movement on his fast ball. The velocity ic ok, but it doesnt matter how hard you throw, you must have movement and control of your placement. He isa not a prospect as pitcher. He needs to be pitching at a small school like nichols or monroe

I was a coach for lsu in the mid 60 to early 70. I am happy tp see more students interested inplayiomng ba;;. If I can assist in any way. I wopuld be more than happy to do so.
Nope. Our student workers would paint tiger paws from the LSU dressing room to the floor, and paint the band area at the end of the court. This was in the Ag Center. People would line up for the freashman game when Pete was a frosh, and then leave after that game.Remember there was no heat and no air conditioning there, and the team could not practice there because the floor couldnt be put down til after the rodeo. Many stories about that wonderful old place.
The pep band was formed in about 1966 when Pete was playing, and dr charlie roberts was the director. it was the same year that the song girls, pom pon girls or basketball cheerleaders was formed. Their top hit, when LSU warmed up was the harlem globetrotters theme sweet georgia brown. How do I know this, cause I was there
