The key this game is Perkins spying Jefferson

Perkins is a legit shut it down spy. We do this on defense and our offense continues to improve like it has we win by 2 touchdowns. BTW it is nice seeing a legit Tight end in this offense again.

Our D plays the way they did last week and Jefferson may not make it through the game.

Stop the run. That’s the key. Sanders is big too and leads the conference in yards

Pittman said he was better than he was at the same time last week

If our defense plays like it did vs BAMA, Arkansas might not get past their 50yd line.

Dunno about that. Yes, some; less than we did Young.

Kind of depends on which KJ shows up. The KJ who's accurate in the middle of the field and doesn't make mistakes or the KJ of the last few weeks.

Comes down to his shoulder injury. Looks like it wasn't fully healed/rehabbed against Liberty. If bad KJ shows up there is no reason to spy the majority of the time. I know it is counterintuitive, but they didn't want to run him against Liberty because of the injury, but at the same time it severly limited his passing (or so it appears).

Now if that speedy bastard Hornsby comes in, we should spy constantly with a few exceptions just to confuse them and keep them guess. If bad KJ, the opposite, spy rarely and make him throw accurately into tight windows.

Don't forget they have they SEC leading rusher and Briles loves misdirection. If they can take Perkins out of run support with that misdirection it would be problematic to say the least.

Our defense was on "high alert" vs Alabama. I can see them letting their guard down a little but will recover like they do.

I think Foucha and Brooks will have the defense dialed in this week..

I am sure this is a game they have had circled.

Maybe so. But I will say this, since losing to Tennessee our defense has been getting SIGNIFICANTLY better each game. The man coverage has been better, the zone has been better, the QB pressure has been better, the coverage busts have been less frequent. Also, outside of Richardson breaking 30 tackles on one play we have throttled every single run game we have played against. We literally just held BRYCE YOUNG to under 50% passing. I think we could be very very good.

Man I tell you what, there are a few things in this world I love more than watching Perkins be a spy

The trick is to change up the spy so the QB doesn't know who to watch. Perkins one play, Ojulari, Baskerville mixed in. Keep the QB confused with different looks.

I don't think a spy is that important in this game. Perkins could rush the passer and still catch Jefferson.

This is a good game for Foucha and Jay Ward. Safeties need to bring the wood.

We’ll see how he feels after he gets hit a few times

I would be shocked if Jefferson was much of a factor, especially with his feet. He's very banged up. If he plays, I'd still mix in some spy to be sure. If he doesn't play, Hornsby is definitely a problem with his legs.

I kinda expect to see both. Arkansas is desperate. They're going to throw it all out there.

Stopping Sanders is going to be the key. He's big and fast, will run you over or make you miss. They'll swing it out to him in the screen game, too. Gotta tackle as a group. If he gets going, the play action gives them a chance to get space for their other playmakers.

This!! This is why we lost last year (and perhaps several games). We didn’t have anyone playing what became the “marcel brooks” role. KJ Jefferson is no Bryce Young, Hooker, Ashford, feet wise. I am not worried about this game

He has great instinct of when to pursue and when to just remain in surveillance.

Perkins has that closing speed too. Even Herb said that last week or might have been fowler.
