I mean I’ll remember Bama 22, a Heisman in 23, Ole Miss 24, and Clemson 25, but to each his own. I’m as ready to move on as anyone but it’s not like it has been a wasteland for four years

I do agree with this chicken. He inherited a terrible situation and stabilized us. It’s just obvious we could have been a lot more had he paid more attention.

Mid to late 90s football yes. Honestly he had a very similar career here to DiNardo.

Gerry inherited and turned around a program that was a complete and utter disaster, and had been so for the better part of 8 or so years.

Not one that had one that had won a NC three years prior.

Also for firing a guy that went 34-14 and 19-10 in the SEC. It’s deserved, but it’s also among the best records ever in league history on a percentage basis to get the axe.

Beating Bama in 2022 was awesome

This is the one thing he can say he accomplished. He beat a significantly more talented Nick Saban team in one of the best endings and best atmospheres in Tiger Stadium history. It was one for the ages. And it led LSU to winning the West unexpectedly in his first year. It was an unforgettable night and he did make it happen with that decision to go for 2 and finally beat Bama in Tiger Stadium.

If only Brian would have taken the motivational advice from Ed and smashed a Red Bull against his forehead, it could have all gone different for him.

Should be remembered as the 1st LSU coach in 25 years to not win at least 1 NC

All true. And also for throwing away a whole season trying to ride with a QB that everyone could see wasn’t getting it done. All the work in the portal trying to fill holes, and he neglected the most important position on the field.
