Tuesday night is just the most likely landfall time. The 2/3 "cone of uncertainty" touches land as early as Monday afternoon. And that's just a 2/3 cone - there's 1/6 chance it will hit before then.

I hate to see the game cancelled as much as anyone but there are more important things than football. Not many, like, less than I can count on one hand, not using my thumb, but there are.

We'll know a lot more Friday. The models have the storm going as far west as south texas and as far east as biloxi. One of the models has a direct hit on New Orleans.

this report is WRONG!!!! contraflow if necessary will start on monday. this is what was accually said on WBRZ's 6p.m. broadcast. read into the article in the link a little it says s source says game could be cancelled not LSU.

if there were thoughts of cancelling the game it would be in here

The PMAC isn't opening as a shelter on Saturday, they are simply preparing it for use as one later.

no...this is incorrect

IF contraflow is needed, it is undetermined at this time when it would start, BUT it could be needed as early as saturday evening...although that is being VERY cautious.....over cautious IMO

contraflow and football games require lots of law enforcement.... they cant be in 2 places at once
it's too early to commit the state police to contraflow.

if this was anything other than LSU football, it would've been canceled days ago.
the question is whether or not that's reasonable. right now, it's not.

here is the main problem. it's not about the day. it's about when the storm clears the yucatan and cuba. THEN we'll know what needs to happen. right now, that isn't going to happen until sat at the earliest, more likely sun. all of this decision making is premature. there's a difference between prudence and panic. many people are exhibiting the latter, not the former.

The main problem is that LSU has to make a decision about the game today before App State leaves for BR. This decision will be made before state officials make any decisions about contraflow, evacuations, etc. They have to make some assumptions about what this storm will do in order to make a decision about the game.

The good news is the latest info pushes the storm more to the west and landfall late Tuesday/early Wednesday. LSU will announce a final decision at 10 am this morning. IMO, game on at 4 pm.

Maybe they want to start contraflow to allow for enough time for everyone to drive to Washington.

I watch WAFB and I think they do a great job but at times I think they try to hard to be the "first" to report something.

Which would be great news if it came AFTER the 10 am conference to determine such things.

Let's hope the "U" has a correct crystal ball.

With lots of prediction for that thing to go more east, why in the world would they contraflow toward BR. They need to contraflow that crap to Pennsacola and north up 55 only.

What part of 72 hours do you people not understand. Both the Department of Homeland Security and the State Police have repeatedly said that they expect it to take at least 72 hours to completely evacuate Southeast Louisiana. Contraflow is just the last stage of the evacuation. Nursing home, hospital, and special needs evacuations must begin well before contraflow and shelters must be set which require the services of emergency personnel. And the last thing they need is some old dude dying because his ambulance driver was from Ole Miss and couldn't get the patient to the PMAC because of a crowd tigerbaitin him.

And all of these plans are based on the time before seeing tropical storm force winds, not hurricane landfall. This shows that the only thing that separates LSU football from Alabama football is the administration because if I couldn't see a purple and gold shirt on most of yall, there would be no way I could tell the difference between you and a gump.

Which contrflow plan will they choose? The SE plan has traffic west bound on I-12 and the SW plan has it east bound. Maybe they need an in between plan. At this point, west bound on I-12 makes no sense.
