Not the game payout...everything else. Local hotels, groceries, restaurants, gas stations, etc. I believe LSU sacrificed a bit relating to the overall economics of it. That game was in the best interest of LSU football and its strength.
It's better for everybody in the long run. You need money in the program to stay on top.

Oh well, it's only Kentucky.
IMO the SEC should set their TV games with the networks for 12:30, 4:00, and 7:30 Central time and put the teams that traditionally play day games in the 12:30 and 4:00 games and those that traditionally play night games in the 4:00 and 7:30 games.

A neutral site /marquee game {at the cost of losing a home game} , every once in a while is just fine ! Doing it with such a poor home schedule is NOT ! Failing to disclose that sideline/decent tickets would NOT be available and over 60% of those "available" seats were UPPER UPPER deck...was pure deception and bullshite on the part of our athletic dept. !
Schedule like you've got some brains/common sense is all I'm saying !

The worst part about this is the shitty picture quality we'll see on SEC TV. Can someone explain this too me? SEC Tv is a joint operation with ESPN, so i would guess that they would use ESPN HD Cameras, but they obviously don't. Even so, why does the picture look even worse than Jefferson Pilot games back in 2002?

I wasn't all too happy with the Oregon ticket allocation, but it wasn't all up to LSU. I went. I had a blast. I would do it again.

As I said, I'm all for the Oregon neutral site game. WVU is the back end of a home and home. SEC makes the SEC schedule. The Northwestern State game came at a good time. Western Kentucky...well, you need a Tiger Day/Homecoming in there somewhere.

Hey, to each his own....if, you're fine with this in the future...how about just SELLING a big home conference game to Jerrys' house EVERY year...it would make tons of money { Vandy used to "sell" their FL "home game" and play it in Jacksonville, I think}...then, LSU can reward all the fans and LOCAL businesses with more home games vs. Towson St. !

What exactly is the SEC network? The SEC has the contract with ESPN, so is this going to be shown on an ESPN affiliate, i.e., ESPNU?
SEC Network is what replaced Jefferson Pilot games.
Here's a link to a list of the channels that carried the Ole Miss/Vandy game this past weekend. Should be the same for LSU/Kentucky.

The "outrage" of playing a home day-game always makes me laugh. TV contracts dictate game start times. It's been like this for at least 20 years. LSU has a tradition of night games because up until the 80's, very few games a year were on TV. Even back in the 70's, you moved the kickoff time if TV wanted you to.
TV contracts are HUGE business for college conferences. What do you thing is driving all of this conference realignment? CBS, the SEC, etc. do not care that LSU fans want the games at night. The networks pay enormous sums of money to the conference to broadcast the games. All the teams in the SEC benefit greatly from the TV money. The networks pay the money, so therefore they get to pick the start times. It's business.
Believe me, LSU is more concerned about getting its cut of the TV money (thus abiding by the SEC contract) as opposed to the fact that "angry fan" now refuses to buy another LSU toothbrush or dog collar because he thinks all home games should be played at night.

OR...the other possibility...you're simply a closed minded individual incapable of open discourse/discussion....

You acting like LSU is shitting all over the fans is just plain stupid. There's no need to open minded because it's dumb.
