Ya'll knew this was coming. I am looking forward to the early kickoff & tailgating! I just hope it's not like the last time we were on the SEC network against Moo St in 2009.

That's pretty shitty. I feel like if you are excited about an 11:21 AM start time, you lose fan respect points and should maybe consider following a Big 10 school. With that said, it's not the end of the world and LSU is likely going to win.

What is the 2:30 CBS game that day? A&M and Arky I assume?

They haven't decided yet. They excercised their 6 day option to pick between Bama-UF, Ark-TX A&M and SC-Auburn. The one that doesn't get picked will be at 11:00 am on ESPN.

I had season tickets for 14 years. Had to give them up last year due to the birth of my child and other family issues. This is what I get as my first game back?

Sucks. Last time we had an 11 30 it was miserable. I think it was niss state a few years ago. I was hung over and sun burnt by noon. No amount of bloddy mary or screwdrivers could bring me back to life.

I don't get the SEC network...so I guess I'm screwed. Bad move by LSU IMO, but maybe we had no choice....Sucks all around.

I thought every SEC team is obligated to play a conference home game in that time slot at a minimum of once every two seasons.

The obligation, whatever itis (and you may be right that it's every 2 years), is a function of what the conference negotiates with the networks. By negotiating with both CBS and ESPN/ABC, the conference creates a situation where CBS can effectively dictate not only when the 11:30 game will be, but who plays in it (since they can pick the 4 teams for their doubleheader). I think that SEC football is a sufficiently desirable porduct, and the networks are sufficiently hungry for content, that the conference could extract as much money from them without subjecting its member schools to the requirement of playing morning football games. I think the SEC media negotiating team didn't aggressively push the quality of what they have to sell with a view to enhancing the gameday experience, for fear of losing the last few dollars (which I suspect they wouldn't lose anyway if the played hardball).

I referenced the Oregon game as a decision made by LSU, which it was.

And a good decision at that.

It made the school tons of money and placed the program at the center of the CFB universe on opening weekend.

In return, we sacrificed playing a home game against Middle Idaho State Polytech.

Great decision by LSU.

And, FWIW, LSU is already exploring possible neutral site games in either Houston or NOLA in the near future.

There is very, very, very little "ill will" within the fanbase.

At least 1 of the 2 games I go to this year will be at night. No way WKU gets moved.

You continue to miss the point. In fairness to you, maybe it isn't on purpose.
