The 2025 Newcomers:
- DJ Pickett: No. 1 CB in America
- Aidan Anding: No. 1 CB in Louisiana
- Mansoor Delane: No. 2 CB in the Portal
- Ja’Keem Jackson: No. 3 CB in the 2023 Cycle

Rebuilding the culture

I honestly think 2 starting level safeties added in the portal (the way we been recruiting this is more likely than not) and some development with Stamps and Woodland this will be the first season under the BK era I feel good about the secondary.

Begs the question- Why wasn't Raymond retained by Kelly when he was hired?

It’s been asked many times.
Raymond was a defensive coach for a 6-7 team that just gave up 42 points to Kansas st… & he wasn’t fired

According to people in the know because Kelly wouldn't meet with CR in a timely fashion and UF swooped in and took advantage. I doubt LSU even countered.

CB looking good but safety was the position that killed us this season they were horrible. Hopefully, we pick up some SEC safeties, I'm so ready to see some good safety play.

All of this. Kelly kept putting it off and wanted to completely tear down the staff after O, but understood there was no way he could fire Corey for the performance of his position group. So he forced him out by giving him the cold shoulder until another school came in with an offer. Obviously it was a fricking retarded move that bit BK in the arse pretty hard.

I hope so. If Gilbert sees meaningful snaps we are gonna get cooked on the back end again.

We aren’t done in the portal. You don’t think the staff know the safeties suck. Delane is first round pick and can play either. Byard’s film looks good and still a lot of guys that will enter the portal

Well, why don't you just tell the board how Big Game Brian played 3D chess to let Raymond go, then hire him back?

Also add how he let Blake Baker get away, then realized he was DC worthy.

And for the most part, it was an inept offense (QB play) that resulted in a poor season, not the defense in 2021

Raymond has done an excellent job revamping this. Bringing in experience mixed in with superstar freshmen DBs.

According to the experts, four years ago, Raymond and the other O coaches had lost their Mojo.
Probably not a Coach in LSU history that has had more of a positive effect on LSU football. He has continuously recruited and coached some of the best in football.
