Once the 19' offense really clicked it was pretty much all 11 personnel. It's really the most variable formation and among all the things that offense was really, really good at, one of them was trapping teams with their personnel on the field for all 3 downs while we ran a number of different looks at them.
Obviously the offense since then completely lost sight of the running game. If anything, the concerning thing would be going away from utilizing the middle of the field. That was one thing last years offense & Max did a pretty good job at.
Both Kelly & Denbrock have spoken about not risking turnovers & taking downfield shots. I haven't watched enough Kelly offenses to know if they're too conservative to not attack the middle, but that's by far the best area to operate a passing game in todays CFB. The downfield shots are nice but to win consistently have to be able to operate in the intermediate middle.

The only way Howard is the man this season is if the other two get hurt
There's definitely another way.
If Daniels and Nussmeier both suck, of course it's a possibility.

CBK said several times that he was going to run the ball and be very physical. Throw down field at times. That doesn't sound like he's very worried about the OL too much
The questions at OL are almost certainly about pass protection.

Welcome to 3 yards and a cloud of dust.

Yeah I really hope we aren't going back to looking like the offenses under Les. It was maddening to watch them struggling just to throw for a 150 yards. You do need to establish some physicality but you can't just ground and pound good teams into submission consistently.
Hearing Kelly acknowledge that the receivers are where the playmakers are makes me hopeful that we will try to get the ball in their hands. I think watching the 2019 offense has spoiled us all and that production won't be matched anytime soon. But there's definitely some middle ground between that and Les' 3 yards and a cloud of dust approach.

Sounds like he’s going backwards offensively. Why would not run an RPO spread formation with the receiver talent? We’ll see easier to cover base 3 wides especially if you need to chip with the TE.

Taking stress off the QB - especially one new to the system is very important. Establishing the run and controlling time of possession while taking shots to keep the opposing defense honest is a winning style of play. Gotta keep LSU’s defense off the field as much as possible.

Are there any watch options?
Anyway to watch online or to listen after the show is over? LSU Sports audio is still a live broadcast feed

I think people are looking in way too much into an hour long talk show.
We have Boutte, Nabors, Thomas, Bech etc etc… we aren’t going to be 3 yards and a cloud of dust. But our OL getting pushed back and averaging 126 yards a game is unacceptable to be successful.

This right here. Why is everyone freaking out? Anyone with 2 eyes could see that LSU went wayyy too far away from being a physical offense over the last 2 years. O thought the only way to spread the ball around was to go complete air raid, and we couldn't run the ball. Kelly wants us to run the ball with physicality, but he still wants to put the ball in our playmakers' hands. Anyone upset with trying to get back to being a balanced physical team doesn't understand what our offensive issues were the past 2 years.
All Kelly is trying to do is make sure we have an identity, because we haven't really had one in 2020 and 2021.

Well, I think maybe Kelly is smarter than Les and far less pigheaded. Lets see what he puts on the field before freaking out about it.
