If Mason Taylor is as good as he sounds to be, that will be massive for the OL as well as that chip on the edges (particularly LT with Campbell). A good and balanced TE can hide a LOT of OL issues both by pass pro and by a quick option to a QB if nothing is open downfield

RPOs depends on coverages. Won't be a crazy RPO team.

Kelly did qualify Taylor as being as good as any "freshman" TE he has had.

The only way Howard is the man this season is if the other two get hurt. It's not that he isn't talented, just young and inexperienced.

Michael Mayer was awesome as a freshman, so it’s still meaningful

Really hope they keep this format for the show.

CBK said several times that he was going to run the ball and be very physical. Throw down field at times. That doesn't sound like he's very worried about the OL too much. He's just not satisfied with it. Have you ever seen Nick Saban happy?

Agree. The show was much better than previous years. It's as if Brian Kelly said he wanted an organized show run by adults. The phone calls and audience questions were horrible.

Not gonna run the spread offense

Unfortunately it will be a very vanilla offense. The years Denbrock was at Cincy they only threw for around 230 yards per game. Almost never ran 5 wide. A lot of 3 wide and a TE.

think some folks are going to be frustrated with the offensive direction under Kelly. A departure from what lsu has done or tried to do over the past 3 seasons.

I think as long as it's not SUPER conservative then it's fine. I do still believe being physical wins championships.

It may be too early in his first year and not enough time to get his own recruits but I'm hoping to see more physicality on the defensive side. The last couple years we have seemed kinda small and weak to me.

Very pleased with the format. Football talk with some occasional humor.

Brian Kelly is gonna have 2 TE on the field and run the ball. He will take shots down the field using play action. He is rarely gonna come out and go four wide. He is a ball control coach. His players will be disciplined and not make stupid mistakes but will be physical. What I like is our defense will not be worn down by the fourth quarter.

I think is going to be a bit more open than that. He specifically mentioned the WRs being the most explosive aspect of the offense. He's not gonna cut off his nose in spite of his face.

Very impressive show, and he didn’t threaten to leave anyone in a “fishing hole”

Boring? Bama sure smashes you in the mouth then rips you over the top.

Bama usually dominates the OL whether running or passing and that is part of what has made them so good. Physicality matters. They surprisingly haven't been running the ball like they used to though. The highest Bama has finished in rushing offense in the last 4 years was in the 40s. They finished like 74th in rushing last year. 2017 was the last time they finished in the top 20 in rushing offense. But they had the best WRs imaginable with Jeudy, Smith, Waddle, etc.

I have a feeling they may try to run more this year because their best WR will probably be one of their transfers and they do not seem to be stacked as much as they have been there this year.
