I keep seeing people trying to compare the two, and understandably so. Both are absolute freaks and I honestly would have a difficult time picking one over their other.
Daniels definitely has way more tools than Burrow. I’ve never seen a QB run that fast and every time he takes off i’m certain he’s at least getting a first down. Also, he’s incredibly tough for being 200 pounds soaking wet. To say he doesn’t have some of the “IT” factor would be false.

However, Joe Burrow was different. Not sure how to really explain it. But he was, and anyone who actually watched all his games in 2019 knows that too. He made plays happen that most QB’s would have lost yards or turned the ball over. I know his defense was much better, but that dude always put his team in a position to win no matter how the game was going. So there’s my rant on who’s better.

Burrow has the clutch gene that very few have ever possessed. When the game is on the line, Burrow is gonna make the play or he's gonna die trying.

It's not necessarily about who's better. I believe Burrow was slightly better at pre snap reads. And I know JD was a better runner but let's put it like this. If you had to choose one of them and you did not have a good Oline who would you choose? That to me is the difference. Burrow can get you 10-15 yds on a run. Might bust one for 20 here and there. But he will also be sacked a lot. JD can take it to the house from anywhere and would rarely get sacked. So in that respect I think JD is better. Both make their Oline better though.

Both winners.
One just has a better arm and one just has better feet.

Here’s a better way: We have 3 losses this year.

Why do we have to compare JD to Burrow?

hopefully the comparison will soon become a similar reference to them both, LSU Heisman Trophy winning QB's.

They really aren't that comparable.

It's forcing it to do so. Both are great in their own way, but they have completely different playing styles.

Burrow worked a ton on this and is the best college player I have ever seen do it. This is the part of the game that I have seen the biggest improvement in JD this season.

The other thing about Burrow was he seemed to have command of the offense better than the coaches.

Burrow wouldn't go undefeated with this defense either

Put 2023 Daniels on the 2019 team and we likely still go undefeated and win the championship

Of course these are hypotheticals but that's how I think it would play out

Both are great. Both are doing all they can given what they have. That’s all that really needs to be said.

Burrow was the better QB. JD vs Burrow isn't even a question without his running ability. JD can compensate for any deficiencies in other areas. Burrow didn't need to compensate because he was a master of the position and the game. The GOAT.

Burrow would have at least 3 losses this year. JD would have been undefeated in 2019

I was all for JD leaving last year, but at this point, I can't be sure he is not as good as Burrow.
