Apparently it doesn't matter anymore to have proof.
People are getting piled on in the media, so therefore, they must be guilty syndrome is in full affect these days. Just ask that gump senator wannabe.
so you'd argue that a school shouldn't fire a coach until he's convicted at trial? Usually, where there's smoke, there's fire.

And in certain jobs yes, an employer could wait for firm proof. But in high-profile, public jobs where the "alleged" activity was horrific, employers are justified in acting quickly - far in advance of any legal proceedings.

And no one is saying Briles should be thrown in jail without proof, but he damn sure shouldn't be leading or even working for a university.

I'm off the Canada will be here another year train. That can't make recruits feel secure either whether it's this year or next. If doesn't want to be here, then there are options. A decision needs to be made so we can move on a grab one of the fore mentioned guys as OC. Sark even probably will be out in ATL this season. My number 1 is Freeze.

He may not be fit to run an entire program and call shots, but he should be in the running for an OC position if sanctions don't follow. Our compliance office is pretty strong.

You want the NCAA to start sniffing around? Because that's how you get the NCAA to sniff around.

I'll go out on a limb and say that i don't think we should hire a guy who allowed for numerous sexual assaults to occur under his watch

It's staggering to me how many people seem to think that "innocent until proven guilty" applies to anything but court proceedings. I'm more than welcome to do my own research and come to my own independent conclusion that Briles is fricking scum and that LSU should avoid him like the plague, regardless of whether he actually committed or will be convicted of a crime.

Art Briles hid allegations of his players committing forceful rape several times. he was an enabler of a thug culture at Baylor.

football should not transcend moral decency much less the law. a football coach that receives complaints of illegal and immoral behavior has an obligation to follow up on it.

Briles is not the type of coach we should hire at LSU. I am truly sorry for you to condone such behavior at the University I love.

NEVER! Where have you been during the Tennessee/Schiano debacle? Fans, myself included, would take to the streets.

so where does he end up. they're not going to fire him and he'll probably take a massive pay cut if he leaves. hc jobs are starting to dry up.

I only casually follow recruiting during the football season, but I saw on twitter that coaches are out visiting with two different QB recruits (Rogers and James Foster) this week. Canada isn't visiting with either recruit. Is it normal for the OC and QB coach to not recruit QBs? I know the other recruiters on staff are better, but to not even be one of the recruiters for the QBs.... Not trying to read too much into that though, just doesn't seem right.

That's what's so frustrating about the whole situation. The uncertainty will scare off recruits who commit to player for the system or coach as compared to the school. If any of the top QB's were coming here for the school this year, they would have already committed to lock up their spot. Canada needs to show his face out on the road in LSU gear like T Rob and others with our big targets if he plans on being here. If not, please step down now so we can grab an available OC now.

A. He’s not the best offensive mind in football, there are literally dozens of people who run the exact same cupcake fools gold offense.
B. He’s a scumbag

He actively hid rapes you sick fuch. If he would have taken action like a goddamn man then roughly 50 girls would have never been brutally sexually assaulted. I’m an alumni and if Briles is ever in LSU colors I’ll pull my donation, cancel my season tickets and not watch another game.

I won’t sell my soul for a football game.

There are way too many people in this world who see nothing wrong with Briles' actions.

Covering up criminal conduct to make sure your team keeps winning, persuading rape victims that pressing charges is not in their own best interest, just another day in the office for these swine.
