People who know marching bands know they aren't actually any good. It's like comparing a Golden Corral steak to a steak from Ruth's Chris.

As a weekend musician, it's LSU and it ain't even close. The most unique chord voicings in the country. No other band sounds like TGBFTL. I would bet $1,000 that you could blind fold me and I could pick them out from the others.

Southern is entertaining and march well. They sound awful though

Or maybe we just don’t want to here a band play the same songs and way as my grandparents did when they were in the band 60 years ago

Tennessee band is at the bottom of my list because that broken record playing of Rocky Top drives me nuts.

Aggies haven't changed halftime routine in years. Hell anyone could do precision marching if that's all they ever did. I'd take St. Aug over the aggies. (and most of the rest on your list)

Ohio State hands down.

It’s been at least 10-12 years since tgbftl had a credible claim to being near the top. Now they are pretty much just above average.

I have the hand written copy of pregame music hanging on my wall. Bill Swore wrote it and it has been electric since its inception. It is interesting how it dominates and has almost replaced Fight for LSU. We only played it for pregame show, kept it rare. What has changed are the uniforms. Our uniforms had a big L on the back and it flashed as we tuned. A great tradition that still sends chills

While I agree that Tiger Band isn’t anywhere near the caliber they once were, they were much better last year compared to seasons past. They literally blew the OU band out of Mercedes-Benz stadium and were loud as hell during the NC game too.

I have to tell you that I was very impressed with the Wisconsin band when we played up in Green Bay. Their high-kicking entrance is classic. Lots of good bands in college football.
