ughh 2023 was such a wasted opportunity. only 1 other team on the list averaged more ppg (2019)..

It's not a ranking. It's simply sorted by Average Margin of Victory descending.

These stats are a bit misleading in some cases. The 1988 team, as an example, won an SEC title.

2003 and 2011 did not have excellent offenses. They were solid but by no means were they excellent. If your criteria for dominant is having a top defense then 2011 if they could have finished the job on 1/9/12 would have gone down as the most dominant team.
However, what 2019's team did and who they did it to is why they are considered dominant. They never trailed in the 4th quarter and not a single opponent had the ball in the 4th quarter with the ability to tie or win the game. They beat 8 top 25 victories and beat the preseason top 4 for the first time in history. Thats dominance.
Yes the defense struggled the early part of the season but the defense stepped up and started performing late after the Ole Miss game. Especially 3rd down defense.

To those outsiders who wonder how a coach can lose his job just 2 years after winning a title? 2020 & 2021 were the only seasons this century we allowed more points than scored

1969 was the year ND decided to actually play in bowl games again after 40+ years of declining them, and thus the 9-1 LSU team got snubbed from bigger bowls they were hoping to get bids for because the Cotton Bowl took ND and surprisingly the Sugar Bowl took a 7-3 Ole Miss team. They did give LSU their only loss that year but still
I knew the 1969 team was good, they were also the last team to beat Bama at home until 2000. I didn't know just how dominant they were though and didn't expect to see them at #2 on the list.

They were. They were a more dominating team than the ballyhooed 2007 team which ended up somehow winning a championship.
Which made it so puzzling how they lost two games, vs Auburn and Florida. Now the first one they were, with visual evidence, cheated out of. The Florida game however remains a mystery. That game really wasn't even close, and LSU didn't even threaten in the second half.

It's hard to argue for the 1992 team being better than any other LSU team, but their losses tended to indicate more competitive play than the corresponding games in 1993.
For instance, in '92 it was LSU 22, Texas A&M 31. '93, LSU 0, A&M 24.
1992: LSU 28, Auburn 30 --- 1993: LSU 10, Auburn 34
1992: LSU 0, Tennessee 20 --- 1993: LSU 20, Tenn. 42
1992: LSU 21, Florida 28 --- 1993: LSU 3, Florida 58
1992: LSU 25, Kentucky 27 --- 1993: LSU 17, KY 35
I know LSU upset Alabama in 1993, and finished with a not-too-bad record of 5-6. But there's no denying that was a terrible football team.

In 1988 LSU had already secured an SEC championship, thanks to their 6-1 record in SEC play and a defeat of Auburn. Unfortunately they still had to play Miami which resulted in a 3-44 embarrassment at home. That game and their Hall of Fame Bowl humiliation in Tampa seemed to be a harbinger of times to come, but nobody envisioned six straight losing seasons.
